For those of you that don’t know Johnny and Bridget’s story - you are in for a romantic comedy treat!


It was the summer of 2016. Bridget was going into her sophomore year of college and had a house off campus with some of her girlfriends in Providence, RI.

She was staying in Providence and Bridget and her friend were going to lunch at the Duck & Bunny . The Duck & Bunny was the cutest place for lunch. It is considered a “snuggery” meaning it’s pink, girly and meant for tea & crepes. The last thing of Bridget’s mind was meeting a boy at this type of place!

Bridget and her friend entered the restaurant and that’s when she spotted Johnny in the garden lifting kegs that he was delivering to the restaurant (At the time- Johnny was working for an alcohol delivery company).

She immediately said something to her friend about how cute he was but then they were ushered to be seated. Bridget and her friend walked to be seated out in the garden and Bridget stopped in the bathroom to wash her hands before lunch.

When Bridget exited the bathroom she came face to face with the boy that had her blushing from the moment she walked in. She shyly smiled and he smiled back and she ran to her table. (this was your chance Bridget!)

Bridget continued to have lunch with her friend and Johnny continued to work and nothing more was said at this point.

The waiter came up to the girls and told them that there was a proposal about to happen right in front of them and they needed to be quiet. All of a sudden a harpist and roses came out of no where. They witnessed a beautiful proposal.

Bridget and Johnny still, to this day, know the strangers’ proposal on a sunny Thursday in June was a sign of what their future would hold.

As the lunch ended and Johnny was leaving for his next stop, his coworker yelled to Bridget and her friend that they were both very beautiful. Bridget out of nowhere decided she had to confidence to yell back “your friend is pretty cute too!” (the couple still doesn’t know where that sudden boldness came from)

So Johnny took that as an invitation to walk over and shake Bridget’s hand like a gentleman and introduce himself as “Johnny from Westerly”. As the Taylor Swift fanatic that she is Bridget instantly recognized the town name as her favorite singers summer haven (another sign). Johnny asked for her phone number then left. 2 minutes later Bridget got a text that said “hi beautiful”.

The rest is history…
