For those looking to travel around a bit farther, Baxter State Park and Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument (North Woods), Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor (Downeast), Camden and Camden Hills State Park (Mid-Coast), Portland (Southern Maine), Bethel and Grafton Notch State Park (Western Maine) and other places as well make for exciting day trips whether you'd like to explore nature, try local foods, or shop.
