Our story starts very romantically; we met at the gym! Haha! Let me explain!

I was working the morning shift at a gym from 4 am to 10 am. Chase and his roommate would come in almost every morning around 5 am. Chase had noticed me countless times before he got the courage to ask me out. The first time I noticed Chase was when he came into the gym wearing a GCU T-shirt, which was the school that I was attending. As he checked into the front desk, I held up the “lopes up” hand signal and said, “Lopes up.” He looked confused about what I was doing so I proceeded to ask if he went to school there. He said he doesn’t go there anymore but he works there. That was the end of the conversation. I didn’t notice him again until the next time he wore the GCU shirt. I think Chase started wearing the shirt more often so I would recognize him. It kinda worked…!

On October 11, 2022, I noticed him walking out of the gym, and I thought to myself, “Wow, he is so attractive. How have I never noticed him before?!” At that very moment, he stopped in his tracks and came walking over to me. He said, “Hey, I think you’re really beautiful and I was wondering if I could take you out on a date.” My response was, “Sure!” There was only one small problem…I had no idea what his name was! All day long I waited for him to text me. In true Chase fashion, he didn’t text for hours and hours. I thought to myself, what kind of guy would ask for a girl’s number and then not text her? I was over him already! He finally texted, and from that point on we could not stop talking to each other. We had countless conversations at the gym. I was so giddy for him! About a month went by and we still hadn’t gone out on a date… we were both very busy! I was traveling home and he was hunting!

On November 8th, after he was done working out, I took a break and we went on a little coffee date to Starbucks. I remember being so skeptical of him and calling Tailor trying to get her to talk me out of going out with him! She straight up said, “Just go on the date. If anything it’s a free meal.” So I took her advice and our first official date was November 11th, 2022! He took me to an old church turned into a Mexican restaurant called Taco Guild. This was the best date ever!! (Thank you Tailor for making me go!!) From then on we were attached at the hip! We hung out every chance we got and he started coming to my church. He fell in love with it and decided to make it his home church too!

I knew the Lord had his hand in our relationship. The more we grew together, the more I fell in love with him and his heart for Jesus! Chase was a constant reminder of the goodness of God and how waiting on the Lord is so worth it. I remember thinking to myself, if Chase loves me this much I can’t imagine how much the Lord loves me too! I knew after a couple of months that this was the man I had been praying for and the one I wanted to spend my life with. With that being said, I CAN NOT WAIT TO MARRY CHASE WAMPLER!!
