AGE RESTRICTIONS AT PROPERTIES/HOTELS

Many hotels in Tulum do not allow children under a certain age. If you're planning to bring your children, be sure to inquire about age-restrictions on the property before booking.

Our ceremony and reception are adults-only with the exception of immediate family.

SARGASSUM - stinky beach seaweed

Private residences and some hotels may not have a staff that cleans the sargassum off the beach.

This time of year, sargassum makes it way to the beaches of Tulum. Onshore, the seaweed can be a nuisance, cutting off access to beaches, and making a huge, stinking mess as it decomposes. Large amounts of Sargassum can also contain high concentrations of heavy metals and arsenic that may cause health issues.

If you'd like to use the beach, you need to be sure the staff at the property in which you are staying cleans the beaches daily. Or else, the beach will be un-useable.

CHECK THESE THINGS BEFORE YOU BOOK

- Is there internet at the property and from the guest rooms?

- Is transportation available (to/from wedding event venues)?

- Are there restaurants or food within walking distance of the property?

- Is the property safe? Is it private and secure?

- Is the property in a remote location?

- Does the property have a staff that cleans the beach daily?

- Does the property have air conditioning?

- Does the property have a mosquito net around the bed so that you may sleep with the windows open? (if not air-conditioned)

- Are there concierge services on-site?

- Are there age restrictions for guests of the property?

Booking outside of our recommended hotels on this website?

If you decide you'd like to book outside of the recommended hotels on this website, please keep in mind that you will need to arrange transportation to/from wedding events. We recommend you do this through your resort/concierge.

SAFETY

Please be mindful that you are in Mexico and that the cartel exists there.

There are uniformed military-men out and about that are there to PROTECT tourists in Tulum.

We suggest you avoid areas that are known for drug sales. The area in which we've suggested accommodations is NOT an area known for drug sales, and is very safe.

If anyone asks you if you'd like to buy drugs, always politely decline (obviously).
