Timeline of Events

I met Jolie in kindergarten 17 years ago. She would chase me around, occasionally hit me with a stick and always throw rocks at me at nap time. From kindergarten to first grade you might say I had a crush on her, but if you asked I would deny it because girls had cooties. After first grade I moved all over Bosque County and eventually ended up in Dublin. 14 years went by and one day I was sitting on my best friend’s couch and I saw her pop up on Facebook (this isn’t 100% accurate but that’s the story I’m rolling with). I sent her a friend request and waited. And waited. And waited. And after about 2 months I somewhat forgot about sending it altogether. Then one day while I was on my lunch break I got a notification that she accepted my friend request, so we started talking. After a few weeks of convincing (borderline begging) she finally agreed to hang out. It’s very hard to convince a gal to hang out with you without sounding like a total creep in case you were wondering. We hung out for the first time in 14 years on August 5th, 2023. We ended up driving to the park where we first met and in my head I told myself that’s where I would propose. After that weekend she moved back to San Antonio for school and I found myself driving 4 hours one way every weekend just to hang out. 3 months later we began dating. 729 days after I told myself I’d propose at the park where we met, I got down on one knee and with shaky hands and a sweaty brow, I proposed.

Cole’s POV

Cole was the shy boy I had a crush on in Kindergarten in 2008. I, of course, did not know how to flirt at that time, so I just chased him around. One day, Cole moved away from Clifton on a whim, and I never saw him again. I stayed in Clifton until I graduated from high school in 2021. In 2023, after two years in college at UTSA, I came home in July for my sister’s birthday. During this time, I received a friend request from Cole Johnson. I knew this name seemed familiar, but the picture I was seeing was not the pouty 5-year-old I knew. Eventually, we hung out in person in Clifton, where I learned he was within 30 minutes of me the whole time I lived in Clifton. I knew that night that Cole would be in my life forever. The following weekend, we hung out again, and became inseparable after that. He started driving to San Antonio every weekend to see me. I got him out of his comfort zone with tailgates, football games, dance parties with my friends, and even forcing him to watch all my favorite rom-coms. On November 5th, he FINALLY asked me to be his girlfriend. After I graduated from UTSA in December of 2024, I moved to Stephenville to stay closer to Cole. This all led up to the moment when we were helping a photographer out as a model couple so she could test her new lens. She told me she had ideas for a cute park photoshoot. We met her at the EXACT park Cole and I met at in 2008. After a couple of poses, I was surprised that day with the question that made all the distance and years worth it, right where it all started 17 years earlier.
