I started attending a new small group at my church, and Jon's best friend and his wife happened to be in my group. After a couple of weeks, they told Jon about me, but it took him a few more weeks to make his move. Jon eventually slid into my DM's on Instagram and, after some conversation, asked for my number.

From there, Jon and I texted for a few weeks, but I had a lot going on and I wasn't sure I was ready for a relationship, so I stopped texting Jon back, or as he likes to say, I "curved" him.

Thankfully, a few months later, Jon was boarding a plane to visit his grandparents in Florida and he was going through old messages. He saw our conversation and felt a nudge from the Lord, and decided to send me a text and ask me on another date. I was at a place where I felt like I was ready to date again, so I said yes!

Jon and I talked on the phone and FaceTimed for two weeks while he was in Florida, then went on our first date the day before his 25th birthday. Our first date was the best date I ever had; I felt like I could talk to Jon forever. I never wanted the date to end.

Luckily, he felt the same way! We have been together ever since and we are so excited to start our lives together.
