Jon and Brooklynn had their first date at Board and Brew on St. Patrick's Day, 2018. They spent 3 hours talking! At the time, Jon was participating in "Mustache March" and had some crazy facial hair but it didn't scare Brooklynn away. On June 3, 2018, Jon officially asked Brooklynn to be his girlfriend while sitting on a bench at Lake Poway.

Over the years, Jon and Brooklynn have spent lots of time at Lake Poway with Jon's dog Hank, going to country concerts, and spending time with family. Their love was growing more and more every day.

On Jon's birthday, July 5th, 2023, they made plans to have breakfast at their favorite spot (Franco's Flapjacks). When Brooklynn arrived at Jon's parents house, she opened the barn doors and went to give Jon a hug and wish him "Happy Birthday". Jon surprised her by getting down on one knee! Brooklynn shouted, "This is way better than pancakes!" After they collected themselves, they FaceTimed friends and family to share the exciting news. A few weeks later, they were approved to buy their first home and moved in on October 20th.
