Nulu

NULU is fun neighborhood in between Downtown Louisville at the reception venue and the ceremony location. There's bars, restaurants, and boutiques to explore. We've spent many nights celebrating birthdays anniversaries and special events around this neighborhood. Check out Nouvelle's patio with a bottle of wine, eat brunch at Bar Vetti or hit Hotel Genevive's rooftop bar for a great view of the city.

Highlands

We're biased to this neighborhood since we both grew up in the Highlands. We encourage you to tour around, especially if it's your first time in Louisville! Along with bars and restaurants we love, this district has lovely parks to visit. Walk through Cherokee Park or Tyler Park and see historical homes that give this area its charm. We often frequent restaurants like Kashmir for Indian take-out, Havana Rumba for Cuban eats and Dragon King's daughter for sushi or tacos. Fine dining like Jack Fry's, Seviche or La Chasse will not disappoint. For happy hours or night caps stop by Darling's, Holy Grale, and Maureen's long-time stomping grounds: LouVino.

Downtown Louisville

Downtown Louisville provides tons of experiences in the city. Take a bourbon tour on Whiskey Row at places like Old Forester or Angel's Envy. Visit museums such as the Louisville Slugger Factory, the Muhammad Ali Center or the Kentucky Derby Museum. Other attractions include Fourth Street Live & The Big Four Walking Bridge.

Germantown

Bordering the Highlands area, Germantown is another fun spot to spend a morning or afternoon! We often spend evenings at Hauck's Corner, The Pearl, and Toasty's Tavern. For a special meal, check out North of Bourbon--we celebrated Jon's birthday here last year and loved it!

Crescent Hill

4 miles east of downtown, you'll hit Crescent Hill. This neighborhood is filled with lots of attractions off of Frankfort Avenue. Boutiques, cheap eats and coffee shops line the streets. If you're in this area, we tend to frequent Eggs Over Frankfort, Con Huevos & Blue Dog Bakery for breakfast. Dinners are spent at Caffe Classico, Irish Rover or Red Hog. If you really want to check out where we first met, lower your expectations and grab a drink at Gerstle's (we were 22, give us a break).

Other Attractions

If you're looking for other ways to experience Louisville check out the Louisville Zoo, walk through Cave Hill Cemetery and see Muhammad Ali's burial site, stroll through the Waterfront Botanical Gardens, tour the MegaCavern or Speed Art Museum. Since it's Labor Day weekend, there may be local festivals you'll stumble into. We're certain you'll fall in love with Louisville while you're here!
