On a brisk night under the stars, Jonah and Jillian met outside on THE Ohio State's campus at Browning Amphitheater. During Jonah's freshman year, he made friends with bridesmaid, Kelsey Leamy, while Jillian was taking a gap year. To give context, Kelsey and Jillian were friends all of high school. During an event one night, Jillian was making friends with the same friends Jonah had made the previous year. Jillian walked up to Jonah and said, "Hi! You are the last of the friends that I have yet to meet." Jonah, having previously noticed Jill in one of Kelsey's social media posts, had remembered her face. After this a few weeks went by, the friend group had all been hanging out, and Jillian had been joining them. On October 10th, while playing volleyball, Jonah had asked Jillian out on a date. A date in which Jillian later said no to. *GASP*. Jonah left with many questions and let it sit for a few weeks. Jonah could not help but wonder whether this was a "no" to him or simply a "no" for the time being. After a couple chats with friends and their now officiant Josh Riehle, Jonah gained the motivation to ask her again. And on January 26th 2023, after Jillian ( i n l e n g t h ) explained why she said no the first time, had agreed to go on a date with Jonah. And the following Monday at 3:00pm Jonah picked her up (woah slow down mister!) and they were off to coffee. The date went super well! Jonah knocked his coffee over, but it landed upright and they both shared a laugh. They talked family, values, and life. Jonah dropped her off and asked her if she would want to go on another date. Jillian said, "Yes!" and gave him a big hug. And the two kept going on fun, little dates until March 5th, when they officially became boyfriend and girlfriend.

Jonah and Jillian kept dating, until the very surprising day of August 25th, 2024. On this day, Jonah asked Jillian to marry him and spend forever together! BUT, we are sure you would like to hear the whole story... right?!

So on Sunday, August 25th, Jillian and Jonah jumped into the infamous, blue truck, also named after the late, great Schnitzel, and they drove to Jonah's soccer game. Some of their friends came to watch Jonah play. Jillian was chatting with the girls and sharing how she really doesn't know when Jonah is going to ask her because she had an inkling it was going to happen the day before and it didn't ... womp womp. Jonah finished his soccer game and he felt "sick" so they scurried on out. On their way home, "maps was taking them such a weird wayyyy!" They were supposed to take a left turn, but Jonah "missed it" and kept going straight. Immediately, they heard sirens and two cop cars pulled them over! *Sidenote: it is beneficial to know that all Jillian told Jonah regarding the engagement is that she wanted it to be a REAL surprise and for their families to celebrate with them after.* Jonah and Jillian stepped out of Schnitzel, while the cops searched the truck. While the cop was searching under the driver's seat, he casually found the ring and handed it off to Jonah. Jonah walked over to Jillian, grabbed her hand, and said, "Let's go over here, while they search the truck." As they walked over to the garden, Jillian started to freak out. Jonah then got down on one knee and popped THE question. Jillian was so surprised! Some of their friends, Ben and Gia snapped some awesome photos, which you can find on the Photos section. After, they celebrated with their friends and family!
