It was a February afternoon in 2023 when Jonathan and Hannah found themselves at the same table during a college student lunch at Valleybrook Church in Eau Claire, WI. The event was meant to bring students together, offering fellowship and friendships, but neither of them expected it would be the start of something much greater.

Jonathan, at the time, was in his studies to obtain his Associates Degree as a firefighter/paramedic. Hannah was in the middle of her journey toward becoming a nurse, pursuing her BSN, and their shared passion for helping others gave them plenty to talk about.

One conversation led to another, and soon, they found many reasons to keep talking.

It wasn’t long before Jonathan decided to take a chance and ask Hannah on a first date—and from that moment, their adventure together truly began.

Both lovers of the outdoors, their best memories have been made under open skies—hiking new trails, biking the city, and spending time hammocking in the sun.

Their relationship grew just like their love for God—strong in faith, rooted in trust, and guided by His plan for their future together.

Two years later, in February 2025, Jonathan planned a moment Hannah would never forget. At Gooseberry Falls State Park in Minnesota, surrounded by the beauty of winter, they walked to the frozen upper falls. With the icy cascades as their backdrop, Jonathan got down on one knee and asked Hannah to spend forever with him to which she immediately said yes!

What started as a casual meal between college students turned into a love story built on faith, family, and a deep appreciation for a loving God that brought them together. Now, they’re ready to take the next step—hand in hand, heart to heart.
