Sparks inevitably started to fly when we joined forces for a Minneapolis Park and Rec Level B volleyball season and came out as champions. Nothing brews romance like success! The team reveled in their hard-fought victory with an end-of-season bonfire at Ben’s, where we chatted long after others left. Well, Ben was still there too. Thanks for letting that play out, Ben, because Jonny asked Tori out that night!We spent the year going for long walks around Minneapolis lakes, sharing a one-person kayak, and playing some epic tennis matches. (I, Tori, have yet to win, but I know my day will come.) Jonny taught Tori how to snowboard, and Tori taught Jonny that there are other great restaurants besides Chipotle.On August 26th, we went for a seemingly routine kayaking (or as we say, kay-yapping) session on Lake Nakomis. But when the sun was setting, Jonny pulled out a ring! You might be thinking, They were on a kayak, did he still get on one knee?? Not to worry, he did! And Tori stood with slightly wobbled knees and said an easy yes. :)We are so excited to spend our lives growing to further treasure the God who created us, yapping, and playing tennis matches with hopefully more varied results!Thank you to each person who has encouraged and guided us. You have taught us how to love Jesus, each other, and our community so well. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
