Our Wedding

Our love story isn't exactly elegant, it's actually a lot of stumbles strung together with a lot of love. We matched on a dating app on March 10th, 2017 as Jonathan was riding up the highway with family to the Bay Area and I had just come home from my first shift at my brand new job in Turlock, CA (also where I met my lovely maid of honor, Angela). When we had matched he had been so close but once I go to message him he's suddenly an hour away. But he had asked for his matches opinions on parenthesis and I'm a sucker for giving my opinion on things. So I did just that...and proceeded to drop my phone into the bathtub and killed it. But even after having to message him on my ancient iPod and telling him no two times because it was too soon, we agreed on a time and place for out first date. Which I was late for due to issues finding parking. The first restaurant we tried didn't have a host and staff ignored us, we couldn't hear each other at the bar we settle on for dinner, I chose an awful movie which I proceeded to talk through. By rights he should have never wanted to see me again, but he asked me out on a second date as he walked me to my car. And it's the best date either of us has ever been on. The first time he told me he loved me, he couldn't get the word love out. It was just an incredibly charming gulp that I still tease him about. When he asked me to marry him I said "Nuh uh" because I thought he was messing with me. There he was, on one knee and no ring. Of course he was just tying his shoe right? Poor thing managed to dig the box out of his pocket (where it had lived all weekend) and got a resounding yes! Every major event of our relationship has been a charming mess up and I wouldn't have it any other way.

A delightful winery with fantastic sculptures. We almost decided to get married here but Villa San-Juliette edged it out.

Opolo has great wines and spirits along with very tasty flatbread pizzas. Jonathan and Patrick (father of the bride) may have enjoyed a spirit or eight here one afternoon during a tasting flight conducted by another former military man.

Jonathan's younger sister who now lives in Colorado after being roommates with him in Fresno. She continually attempted to get a pygmy goat for their apartment but Jonathan wouldn't allow it.

Rachel Mortensen

One of the very first people to meet Jonathan when she was just  14 months old.  She has the best suggestions when it comes to music (according to Jonathan) and she paints the cutest little square paintings.

Sarah Oatman

Kiley's best friend. They met in March of 2017 and became fast friends, bonding over their mutual love of animals and silly fun. A lover of possums, chihuahuas, and kitschy items. Please, ask her about her gremlin 

Angela Hopper

Angela's wonderful girlfriend. Though it took a couple tries, Kiley and Alex finally met in Fall of 2019 and have been friends ever since. They bonded over make up, skin care, and a beautiful mutual love of cats.
