Directions: From Route 7 in Manchester, travel about a ¼ mile east on Route 11/30 to East Manchester Road. Turn right onto East Manchester Rd. At the 3-way stop sign, drive straight onto Rootville Road. Follow Rootville Rd. for about a mile. Parking is found on private land just before the water tower.

The Lincoln Family Home at Hildene is the beautiful former summer home of Robert Todd Lincoln (the only son of President Lincoln and his wife Mary Todd Lincoln to survive to adulthood). It became home to only Lincoln descendants until 1975, longer than any other Lincoln residence. Hildene offers guided and self-guided tours of the home and grounds and farm.
