Ginamarie and Jonathan met in June 2022.


Jonathan regularly performed as a musician and every Sunday he would perform with various singers in New York City at a beautiful restaurant/venue called Waterfront NYC. One of Jonathans good friends, Paris had just gotten engaged and she asked Jonathan if he could find another musician to cover her for their upcoming duo performance at Waterfront NYC. On such short notice, none of Jonathans other regular musicians were free to fill in. But that week, Jonathan was scrolling on Instagram and came across the band Nicolls Road. He noticed a female singer with them and immediately began clicking through some of their videos. He was blown away by how talented their female singer was, so he immediately messaged her to ask if she was free to cover for Paris at their upcoming gig!


Ginamarie saw the DM and saw that her and Jonathan had one mutual friend/connection on Instagram, her good friend John Little. John vouched that Jonathan was a good guy, and so Ginamarie said yes to doing the gig! They performed together the next week and Jonathan was blown away by Ginamaries talent, but also her humility, professionalism, and how easy and fun she was to work with!

But then something changed. One night while writing a song together, Jonathan and Ginamarie almost simultaneously began to look at one another in a different way. A few days later Ginamarie asked Jonathan if she could join him on Sunday at church for the first time. As they were going to church together Ginamarie told Jonathan that she had the song Goodness of God stuck in her head all morning, and she didnt know why because she never listened to Christian Music. Jonathan prayed privately to God and said, God, I dont think Im supposed to be more than friends with Ginamarie, I wouldnt want to mess up the friendship. But if you want me to be more than friends with Ginamarie, could you have the worship team at church this morning do that exact song, Goodness of God, that is stuck in Ginamaries head right now?


Ginamarie and Jonathan went to church together and sure enough, the closing song of the church service was Goodness of God. Jonathan immediately took it as a sign from God and a few weeks later asked Ginamarie to be his girlfriend. God was putting a love story together that neither of them ever saw coming or expected!!!

On June 1st 2025 (their one year anniversary) Jonathan proposed, and God continued to bless their love by opening door after door, blessing after blessing that has led them to honor God and to honor one another in marriage on August 31st 2025!!!
