Our Wedding

The red string theory, rooted in East Asian mythology, suggests that an invisible, unbreakable, red thread connects soul-mates who are destined to meet, regardless of time or distance. As people move through life, the thread subtly influences their paths, leading them to cross each other's lives at just the right moments. Whether it’s through chance encounters, shared friends, or unexpected circumstances, the red string ensures that they will meet and come to love each other, even if it takes multiple attempts or detours along the way.

Our love story reminds us of the red string theory, meeting in high-school through mutual friends, at youth group through community events, through our work in our early 20's as a caregiver and a first responder, and through mechanic work at the garage...the list goes on...of all the ways we crossed paths, sharing smiles but not knowing yet that we were destined for more.

One night, when our red string tugged particularly strong and the moon was shining it's finest, we connected again with a conversation drenched in humor, our kiddos, and our shared interests. That conversation never ended, it merged into the next day, and the one after that, and the one after that...

It eventually included "Will you Marry Me?' followed by an enthusiastic "YES!" We look forward to adding our vows to our lifelong conversation and through marriage honoring each other and our little red string of fate.

Our first Lovelock....in a stormy Savannah on our two month anniversary.Our marriage will be just like those love locks—secure, steadfast, and ready to weather anything together!
