Our paths first crossed during the 2021 Finley Days in Finley, ND. Michael pulled up to the beer dart circle wearing his FarmHouse Fraternity (boo) belt buckle and a bad hair-do. Jonnah was very good at beer darts and had the upper hand. After a bit the group headed for town but someone forgot their wallet so the group turned around. We made it halfway back to town before Jonnah realized that she had also forgotten her wallet and ID causing the whole vehicle to turn around once again. After finally making it to Finley, Jonnah noticed the decorations on the ceiling of one of the local bars were can koozies with a magnet on the back. Jonnah borrowed a koozie from the someone who had to go home early and wrote "Jonnah + Mike" on it, showed it to Michael, then threw it up on the ceiling where it is still hanging today.

Fast forward to 3 AM, the party is just winding down. We bet $100 on what time the sun will rise. The sun rose at 4 AM and Jonnah won. Three days later, Michael Venmoed Jonnah $10 (which is obviously not $100). A week later, Michael texted Jonnah, explaining that he didn't have any money in his Venmo account and suggested, "How about I take you out for beers sometime?" We went out for beers on July 1, 2021. Although Michael arrived an hour late and mispronounced Jonnah's name as "Yawn-ah," the date went fairly well.

Fast forward to April 21, 2024, we were out in the field doing some tillage. Brother James Backman showed up, claiming he wanted to "learn how to check the depth of the cultivator." Michael asked Jonnah if she wanted to learn too. As we were inspecting the field, Michael knelt down, and James pulled out his camera. Michael then asked Jonnah to marry him and she said yes!
