ENGAGEMENT PARTY WEEKEND SCHEDULE

We're almost there!

Everything has fallen into place beautifully, and we have two incredible locations to hang with our family and friends. We want everyone to feel the warmth and overall coolness of Huntsville while they're here, and the Weeden House and the Huntsville Art Museum are both perfect examples of just that.

Many more thanks to come, but we want to give a big shout-out to my parents, family, and friends who have helped bring this weekend to life.

Feel free to e-mail us with any questions: heyjenandjonny@gmail.com

xoxo

Karaoke Welcome Party

Friday, May 10, 2024
7:30 PM–10:00 PM
The Weeden House Museum and Garden
300 Gates Ave SE, Huntsville, AL, 35801, United States
Attire: Southern Casual
Hello family and friends! We want you to be happy and for everyone to have a great weekend in Huntsville! What better way to blast off than with the sweet melodies (or not!) of our voices resonating through the southern air. We all know Jonny is going to sing The Connection, so pick again if that was your first choice. It's a casual night with varied times of arrival from all of our guests, so feel free to get settled in to your hotels, grab a bite to eat downtown, and head over to the Historic Weeden House when you're ready! There will be drinks and some light snacks at the event. We can't wait to see you!

Tenaim Engagement Party

Saturday, May 11, 2024
6:30 PM–11:00 PM
Huntsville Museum of Art
300 Church St SW, Huntsville, AL, 35801, United States
Attire: Cocktail
TENAIM: The Jewish precedent / equivalent for the engagement party is a betrothal ceremony called tenaim, literally "conditions." From the twelfth century to the early 1800s, when families agreed on a match between their children, they signed a tenaim document to set the date and time of the wedding and spell out dowry arrangements. Today, of course, family-arranged marriages and dowries are things of the past, and so the modern tenaim celebration can serve as a public kickoff to the engagement. The document is less of a contract full of conditions, and more of a statement of promises and goals for married life. We are marking the end of our single lives and the beginning of our shared future, and we would be so honored for all of you to be witness to these promises. Historically, an engagement was cause for a celebration in itself, and finalizing this document was grounds for a party. As we're not ones to set tradition aside, we'd love for you to join us for dinner, dancing, and of course, live music! We're so excited to share this meaningful tradition with all of you - and then to boogie on into the night with our amazing live band!
