After graduating from the University of Arizona in May 2018, both Jonny and Alexa left their respective homes to chase their dreams in New York City. Jonny pursuing a career in finance at BlackRock and Alexa pursuing a career in journalism.

One afternoon while relaxing at his new apartment, Jonny received a text from his roommate asking if a friend could stop by to borrow his drill. Not knowing the significance of the drill at this point, Jonny agreed and patiently waited for his guest to arrive. Soon thereafter, there came a knock at the door, and Jonny answered to find Alexa standing there with her dad, Mike. Jonny was instantly infatuated with Alexa at this point and prayed he would get to run into her again soon. Alexa also couldn't help but walk away wondering who the cute, mystery boy was. Little did they both know, their roommates were scheming to set them up and this was all part of their plan.

A few weeks later, Alexa and Jonny were both invited to a brunch with some of their fellow alumni. Uncoincidentally, they were sitting directly across from each other. Lasagna and bottomless mimosas were on the menu that afternoon at the Lasagna Ristorante. Hungover from the night before, Alexa did not partake in the bottomless mimosas and insisted on only having coffee. Jonny was convinced that Alexa wanted nothing to do with him. In fact, he recalls spending most of the brunch talking to Alexa's friend, Cass. Nonetheless, Jonny left that brunch determined to take Alexa out on a date.

Several days later, Jonny mustered up the courage to message Alexa on Instagram and ask her to get drinks sometime. She said yes! On the day of their date, however, Alexa was under the weather and suggested that instead of getting drinks, the two should get takeout and watch a movie. Her suggestions for food and a movie, you ask? Panda Express and National Treasure, of course. At that very moment, after picking his jaw up off the floor, Jonny knew Alexa was the perfect girl for him. He'll never forget her walking out of her apartment that day in her oversized University of Arizona Champion sweatshirt.

Over the next five years, Jonny and Alexa would survive a pandemic together, add a third to their family with the best Golden Retriever (Rory), and call various cities home before ultimately landing in Denver, Colorado.

On the night of December 4, 2023, Jonny proposed to Alexa in the garden outside St. Paul's Church in Covent Garden, London. For a brief moment that evening, on one knee and with the ring in his hand, the rain had subsided, the clouds had cleared, and there wasn't a single soul in the popular garden other than the lucky couple. It was almost as if someone was watching over them to ensure the moment was as perfect as possible. After soaking up the moment together, the couple left to meet Alexa's parents and sister who had also traveled to London to celebrate.

And as fate would have it, that same drill that fostered the start of this budding relationship, has traveled with the happy couple from one location to the next.
