Jordan & Kaleo

October 26, 2024 • Kaneohe, HI

Jordan and Kaleo’s love story is not one you’ve read about in your fairytales. It’s not one Hollywood would choose to film. It was unorthodox and questionable. It was everything messy that life and love could conjure, until it wasn’t.

It was October 2004; Kaleo had just wrapped up a Halloween party with her Na Maka family and dolphin tour coworkers. The after party was moved to a coworker’s house in Waianae, where she met her coworker’s seemingly unfriendly somewhat anti-social younger brother, Jordan. Neither one aware of the story they were about to write. They’ve seen more than the average couples share of ups and downs, yet they continue to return to each other not unlike the way the ocean they love so much always returns to the shore. Already blessed with Jordan’s daughter, Jaden, their journey together was then marked by two additional beautifully significant and individually remarkable accomplishments: Jordynn-Rylee and Sammy-Lee.

As this faith journey will teach you, your plans will pale in comparison to those that God has for you, and it would be through raising this family that Jordan and Kaleo would also raise themselves. Together, they grew older, wiser, closer, and stronger. Whether by happenstance or ingenious timing, in October 2021, Jordan proposed with a surprise pumpkin in a pumpkin carving contest that Kaleo was judging. So here we are, with 20 years between the October they met and the October they wed.

Their love story is not one of fairytales. It is not one that was scripted for the silver screen. It’s an unforgiving loop of chaos and serenity, uncertainty and clarity, doubt and sensibility. Their love story is one that is undeniably real, brutally honest, and relentlessly invincible. It has stood the tests of both time and trial.

Fairytales wish they were made of a love like this.
