We met when COVID was still pretty prevalent which made meeting someone naturally, nearly impossible. SO, we actually met on a dating app called Bumble! Not exactly the "meet-cute" either of us dreamed of probably... but it was as cute as it could get for the time.
Austin was in town on R&R from contracting and wasn't looking for anything serious but downloaded the app out of boredom, in hopes of finding someone to hang out with. I had been on the app a little while and initially was doing the same thing- trying to cure boredom/ make friends, but at some point realized I wanted to find something more substantial.. which was NOT looking good.
June 14th, the day of my 31st Birthday, I told my best friend I was done with dating and would rather be single than keep wasting my time, and planned to delete my dating apps the next day.
Well, June 15th we both got a notification that we had a "match". I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a VERY good looking guy (who was, refreshingly, not my typical type) that I had "swiped right" on a few days prior. Bumble forces the Ladies to make the first move, so In true Jordan form, I awkwardly messaged him.
In true Austin form, he came in calm, cool, and collected. We spent that afternoon and the next morning with small talk and questions, and by lunchtime on the 16th, he confidently hit me with one of the BEST pickup lines I had ever seen...
A: Are you any good at puzzles?
J: I guess it depends on the kind..
Rubik's cube? absolutely not. Jigsaw- sort of? lol
A: It's a fill in the blank... take all the time you need...

Needless to say, I gave him my number and he asked me out on a date the next day. After a hilariously awkward first date, we were hooked. We used (what seemed like) every minute of every day for the next few weeks getting to know each other/ going on dates and it didn't take us long to realize THIS was it.
It took 2 days for the first date, 3 weeks for the first "I love you", 4 months until we moved into our own home, 2 years for a proposal, and another 4 months to say "We will".
Needless to say, our relationship has been unconventional and quick... but man, we wouldn't have done it any other way.
