Jordan & Clint

September 5, 2021 • College Grove, TN, USA

Clint and Jordan met in Athens, Ga during Georgia/Auburn weekend in 2014. They have always had mutual friends but did not officially meet until that weekend. They both had a crush on each other before that weekend though. Jordan’s roommate at the time, Abigail (matron of honor) told her he was coming in town and that he had mentioned her to his buddies! Jordan thought she was going to pass out because she knew their paths would cross over the weekend.

Fast forward to that Friday night, Jordan and her friends went out to a bar and she remembers seeing Clint from a distance. Jordan was talking to Abigail, when she cut her off to say omg Jordan, Clint is walking this way. She felt someone tap her on the shoulder, it was Clint. She was very nervous to talk to him. They hung out all weekend, continued to talk for a few months and started dating early the next year. Clint's exact words he told Jordan a while back was "I knew I had you in the bag after the first night." And boy was he right. Jordan was smitten.

Monday, December 21st Jordan got a text from Clint telling her they have his work Christmas party to attend on Tuesday night the 22nd. She was aggravated with Clint because he had told her last minute and they had 500 things to do before they went out of town on the 23rd for the holidays. She insisted she did not have time for a Christmas party, but little did she know it was going to be the best day of her life.

Jordan got home Tuesday after work and was getting ready for the party. She remembers standing in her bathroom curling her hair and looking over to see Clint sitting on the edge of the bed smiling at her. He told Jordan she looked very pretty, and they hopped in the truck to go to Whispering Pines where the party was. They pull in and Clint tells Jordan he has a ton of firewood in the back of his truck that he needed to take down to the firepit by the river. Jordan started helping him unload some of the firewood and Clint asked her to grab a fire log starter that was sitting on a bed swing a few feet away from the fire pit. Jordan was oblivious and walked over to grab the log, she turned around and Clint was on one knee. She cannot remember anything he said, but they just held each other crying. Jordan was in complete shock!

Fireworks went off and, in the distance, waiting was their family and friends. Everyone ran down to them and they celebrated all night. It was truly the best day of their lives.
