Attire & Theme

What should I wear?

Jordan and Kayla have curated a lookbook for their guests so there is limited anxiety and stress around attire. Jordan and Kayla are straying away from the "traditional" wedding and want to celebrate the things they love- fantasy, fun, and creativity.

What is the theme?

Jordan and Kayla love all things spooky and fantasy related. From Harry Potter and Dungeons and Dragons, to Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings they have always loved to enjoy their commonalities together.

Samhain, rooted in ancient Celtic tradition, marks the end of the harvest season and the onset of winter, embodying a time of reflection and connection to the spiritual realm. Celebrated from October 31 to November 1, it is believed that during this period, the veil between the living and the dead is thinnest, allowing for communion with ancestors and departed loved ones. Rituals often included lighting bonfires, feasting, and crafting offerings to honor those who have passed, fostering a sense of community and continuity. The festival not only signifies a time of transition and renewal but also celebrates the cycles of life and death, reminding us of our interconnectedness with nature and the spirits that guide us.

Is Samhain Evil?

No. Celebrating Samhain within a wedding adds a unique and enchanting layer to the festivities, blending ancient tradition with modern love. As the couple exchanges vows under the glow of candlelight, guests can partake in rituals that honor ancestors, perhaps adding wood to a bonfire to symbolize the warmth of family and the transition into a new life together. Autumnal decorations of vibrant leaves and pumpkins create a cozy atmosphere, while seasonal feasts featuring hearty dishes and spiced treats evoke the rich harvest. This fusion of love and lore not only deepens the couple's commitment but also connects them to the cycles of nature and the spirits of those who came before.
