Alex and Jordan's journey began at the Blue Moose Bar and Grill, where Alex, working part-time, couldn't help but notice Jordan's radiant smile and beautiful hair as she worked as a cook. One night, their coworkers decided to hang out after work. Alex, determined to seize an opportunity, nervously approached Jordan as she was changing her shoes to go out.


Expecting the worst, he asked for her number, to which Jordan teasingly replied with a smile, "Why?" Alex was not expecting a follow-up question, so he stumbled through an explanation about plans to meet at a bar after work, hoping she would join them. To his surprise, Jordan said if he was going, she would be there, and thus their story began.


Their casual outings soon turned into deep conversations and memorable nights, which then led to Jordan planting a kiss on Alex unexpectedly, and the more time they spent together, the closer their bond grew. One night at Wild Horse Saloon, Jordan was on the dance floor, fully in her element. Alex remembers watching her dance – she was carefree, energetic, and radiating happiness. That was the moment he knew he was going to marry that girl someday.

Jordan and Alex decided they wanted to go on a vacation. They initially were planning on a cruise until a suggestion from Alex’s Aunt Annette changed their minds and they decided to make a trip to New York and Connecticut to visit family. Jordan had never been to the east coast, so this sparked the idea in Alex’s head that if he was going to propose, this would be the most opportune time and most memorable.


Inspired, he thoroughly searched for the perfect ring, eventually finding a halo-style ring at Calhoun’s Jeweler that looked just like a flower, he knew that was the ring for Jordan. With the ring in hand a month before their trip, Alex eagerly waited for their vacation to begin.


Two weeks before their journey, Alex and Jordan discussed marriage in the car. They both agreed they wanted to get married, but Alex said he didn’t have the money for a ring right now, but he promised after the New York trip, he would start saving. Little did she know she had been sleeping only 5 feet away from the ring for weeks.


When it was time to depart for New York, Alex gave the ring to his Aunt Annette for safekeeping. He planned to propose to Jordan on the beach, and his family was in on the secret. His Uncle David, however, made a suggestion that turned his proposal plan into the most perfect setup – instead of the beach, he would do it on a sailboat.


On September 17, 2023, surrounded by family, they set sail on the most beautiful sunny day. After an hour on the boat, Jordan decided to lay down and relax. Alex coordinated with his family to have the moment captured and the perfect song playing in the background– “Still Falling for You”. Alex’s cousin, Michelle, was going to pretend to be taking a beautiful picture of them with the water in the background. Jordan was a little resistant to get up as she was so comfortable and enjoying the relaxation. Alex finally convinced her to get up and as they got in place to take the picture, Alex looked Jordan in the eyes, his heart racing, and said “You know that I love you, right?”, she said yes, then he turned her towards him and reached in his pocket. He got down on one knee and asked if she would marry him. Through tears of joy and a few happy screams, Jordan accepted, and she gave a resounding “YES”!
