Harpers Ferry
Harpers Ferry is a historic town over the border of West Virginia only 30 minutes from Frederick and definitely worth exploring! This town has been kept mostly the same as it was during the Civil War, which is almost like stepping back in time. There are also numerous hiking trails and summits that border the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains and the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers.

Cunningham Falls State Park

This park is home to Maryland’s highest cascading waterfall, a sight to see! This park is adjacent to Catoctin Mountain Park and Catoctin Furnace Trail.
Gambrill State Park
