Our Story

You are in for a treat. You get to hear both of our sides of "our story." Enjoy!

Jordan:

It started on January 15, 2024, when I (Jordan) was heading to Texas Roadhouse to meet Seth for the first date. We had been messaging back and forth for a week or two when Seth randomly texted, "Let's go out for dinner!" A little unsure of this guy, I said, "Okay." On that first date, I nervously talked while Seth eagerly listened. We both said our goodbyes and weren't sure what the future held.

Seth said he would like to go out again the next day and took me to the drive-in movies the following Friday. I did not go to work that Friday due to being ill. I was apprehensive about getting Seth sick, so I canceled the date. We were both disappointed, but around lunchtime, I started feeling much better and decided to reach out to Seth to see if he was up to going on that date. He immediately answered, "Yes!" That night, we met at Seth's house and stopped at Goldfingers before heading to VIP Star-Lite Drive-In. Seth pulled out his battery-powered radio to hear the movie, which I was not expecting. Seth had to go hunting the next morning and notified me he could not text the following day. I, sounding raspy and with a manly voice, said, "No worries!" I continued to cough the entire night and tried not to talk as much so Seth wouldn't hear my manly voice. We finished our movie and enjoyed the date immensely. The next morning, Seth texted me, letting me know he had a great time the night before. I responded, "I thought you weren't going to be able to text today?" Seth texted back, "I woke up sick....." And the rest is history, ladies and gentlemen!

Ten months later, Seth proposed to me at the drive-in movie theater. He had everything planned out. He had a preview created with a sweet message proposal and pictures. He even had family and friends parked in the parking lot in unrecognizable vehicles.

What a wonderful 10 months this journey has been. God has blessed us immensely and I am excited for what the Lord has in store for our future.

Seth:

Prior to meeting Jordan, I was focused heavily on my career and working a lot of hours. Finding the woman I was supposed to marry was not on my mind. However, some friends told me to download a dating app called Hinge, so I figured why not try it out for a little while. Well, I tried it for a couple of months and was about to delete the app when I matched with Jordan. Since I was working a lot of hours, we messaged scarcely for a couple of weeks until I asked Jordan to dinner one night, and even though she says she felt a little unsure, she agreed. We went to Texas Roadhouse on that first date, and Jordan nervously talked the entire time while I just listened and ate my food. I knew after that night she was likely to be the one I would marry.

Meeting Jordan is an example of how God’s timing and planning are perfect compared to ours. I was never the type of person who believed in the “when you know you know” idea. During everyday life, I usually am conservative and take things slow to try and ensure I am making the right decisions. God showed me that there was no need to wait to get married because after going out with Jordan several times, getting to know her, and letting my walls come down I did know she was the one I was going to marry. I proposed to Jordan at the VIP Star-Lite drive-in movie theater on November 16th, which is where we had our second date. There is more behind that story, but the short version is Jordan got me sick after that date and we didn’t even kiss cause she was sick!
