Our Wedding

We first met in 2021 at the University of Dayton (GO FLYERS!) at a faith-sharing event. After hitting it off right away, we found a quiet corner and talked about our faith and life experiences for hours. At the end of the event, we exchanged phone numbers, with plans to share a meal together in the near future.-----------------------After this first conversation, we texted nearly every day for months. Soon after followed many shared meals, coffee chats, and night drives. Though we spent almost every day together (and were certainly interested in one another), we were oblivious to the others' interest and remained just friends. Our first picture together (yes, after hours at a Golden Corral) was on one of our many night drives laughing and getting to know one another.

October 2021 - When We Met 

After driving from Dayton to Indianapolis and back for a friend's concert in early January, we began to realize how important we were to one another. We shared our feelings for one another when we returned to Dayton following the concert. From there, we began a tradition of going out to breakfast together for our "firsts" - JMack's first day of student teaching, JMarsh's first day of Spring classes, JMack's first day of grad school the following year, etc -but (for some reason) never actually called these “dates.” Finally, our first official date took place on Valentine's Day 2022. However, we consider our anniversary to be the day of that concert: January 2nd.-----------------------Not long after, we took our first (of many!) trips together, visiting family and sight-seeing in Washington, D.C.! JMack also graduated from UD this year and began her master's the following Fall.

January 2022 - Officially Dating 

2023 brought many exciting trips and opportunities for us. JMack continued her Master's in Pastoral Ministry at UD, while JMarsh continued his Junior year of undergrad. During term breaks, we had the opportunity to travel a ton! We visited Buffalo, NY where we saw Niagara Falls and went on a mission to find the city's best buffalo wings (we still can't agree between Duff's and Gabriel's Gate...). That summer, JMarsh studied abroad at the University of Oxford in the UK. At the end of his time there, JMack flew out to meet him and together we had the opportunity of a lifetime to travel by car, boat, train, and plane to visit London, Paris, Amsterdam, and Normandy Beach!

2023 - Grad School, Buffalo, Europe

2024 was a year of change! We graduated together from UD - JMack with her Master's in Pastoral Ministry, JMarsh with his Bachelor's in Political Science and Criminal Justice Studies. The following fall, we moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where JMarsh started his Master's in Political Science at Marquette University and JMack began teaching theology at Messmer High School (Go Bishops!). Getting to explore a new city together was such an amazing experience. There, we discovered a deep love for the Milwaukee Brewers' baseball team, the classic Milwaukee burger at our favorite restaurants, being a short drive from Lake Michigan, and a pistachio ale you can't find anywhere else in the world. Milwaukee quickly became one of our favorite cities and it is a place we will always cherish!

2024-2025: Our Milwaukee Era

In January of 2026, we celebrated four amazing years together! JMarsh proposed on our anniversary - January 2nd - at our favorite place, UD. It was the perfect day to reflect on and celebrate how far we've come together since our time at UD. The ring JMarsh chose is in the shape of a tulip, representing the hundreds of tulips that are planted across the UD campus every spring, the thousands we saw across Amsterdam, and JMack's favorite flower.

January 2026 - Our Engagement!

Since our engagement, JMarsh has graduated Marquette with his Master's in Political Science and has accepted a spot at McGill University in Montréal, Canada to pursue a Ph.D. in Political Science. We can't wait for all the new memories and adventures we will have here!----------------------- We are eternally grateful for everyone who has supported us, believed in us, and loved us throughout our journey. We are incredibly excited for this next step in our lives together and we can't wait to celebrate with you!
