Jordan and Tom first met during college at a bar in South Fargo. When the band that was playing started a slow song, a friend of Jordan's, Jessica Corcoran, told Tom to go dance with Jordan. Tom had not met either of them, and neither Jordan nor Jessica knew Tom. Following that exchange, and with the reassurance from Jordan that she would like to dance, Jordan and Tom proceeded with a middle-school-type slow dance. However, due to the obvious awkwardness between them, they remained acquaintances as they spent their senior year crossing paths through Greek Life, parties, and other college events.

A great deal of thanks is due to Anna and Danny Lukens for their part in inviting Jordan to go with Anna to the house where Danny and Tom lived and for putting up with Tom long enough to allow a spark to develop between Jordan and Tom. That spark ignited a year after both had graduated college, when Jordan used one of her famous pick-up lines on Tom to start a conversation that hasn’t ended since. They reconnected during NDSU Homecoming weekend, and this ultimately led to Tom visiting her several times over the following months. One thing led to another, Tom moved to Fargo, and their relationship grew through many life events, trips to Park Rapids and Bald Eagle Lake, and windy Fargo days spent together.

On November 18th, 2023, everything came together when, in Lake Itasca State Park—a place near and dear to Jordan’s heart—Tom asked Jordan to marry him. That wasn’t the only surprise of the day, as they were able to celebrate their engagement with their family later that night.

From their college days to their first steps as adults to their first home purchase, Jordan and Tom would like to thank each and every one of their friends and family for their support, love, and kindness. Thank you all, and let’s celebrate!
