Our Story

Our story begins on the evening of September 11th, 2021 at Caesars Steakhouse Willow Park. Dan was bartending another regular Saturday dinner service when he peeked through the pass into the dining room and saw Jordan for the first time. About a week later Jordan worked her first of what would become many Tuesday dinner shifts with Dan on the bar. Dan and Jordan would use these slow Tuesday evenings to develop what started as a friendship and naturally evolved into a flirtation including a few drinks after work and Jordan’s first ever Calgary Flames game. This continued until December 8th, when Jordan and Dan shared their first kiss, and a flirtation evolved into a relationship. The following Saturday, exactly 4 months after meeting Dan and Jordan went on their first date, a road trip to Drumheller to visit the Royal Tyrell Museum that culminated in a romantic duet of “A Whole New World.” Only a few weeks later Dan would meet the Schroeders for the first time, and after an exchange of green beans with Clarke, Dan felt like he fit right in.

As 2022 continued they spent as much time together as their busy schedules would allow with dinners, short trips to the mountains, and other fantastic adventures. This year would also bring an important addition to their relationship, as in the spring Jordan and her best friend Sam adopted a tiny cat they would name John, and from the moment they brought him home, they as well as Dan fell in love with the new member of the family. That summer Dan brought Jordan to Madge lake for the first time for the Golden Duck tournament. The trip ended with many new friends, family, and special memories made as Madge became a special place for the both of them. On October 1st Jordan moved out of her Copperfield apartment and into Dan’s Glendale house where they would continue their adventures. As their first year as a couple came to a close, they would start a new tradition of having their anniversary dinner at the place they met, Caesar's Steakhouse.

As a new year began Dan and Jordan were about to embark on some of their biggest adventures yet. This included a week in Disney World with Jordan’s family, and 7 days of rope drops, lightning lanes, and one exceptional pizza later Dan knew in his heart that he had found his second family. At the end of June 2023, Jordan and Dan parted ways as Jordan headed to Toronto with her sister to start a Dental Hygiene program, and Dan headed back to Madge Lake for the summer. After a long 3 months, Dan drove the rest of the way across the country where he and Jordan were happily reunited.

2024 would start even busier than the previous year ended, but it would lead to Dan, Jordan, Autumn, and of course John becoming as close as can be, spending endless hours sipping coffee on their balcony and gazing at the Toronto skyline. In February they would take another big journey together, this time to Mexico to attend the wedding of their dear friends Kennedy and Anthony. Leading up to this point Dan knew that Jordan was the woman he wanted to marry, and after this journey it made it even more apparent. As Dan’s work involved a lot of weddings, many of the late nights spent on the balcony ended up with wedding talk, and looking forward to our own one day, and that’s when Dan knew he had to make his move soon. As summer was coming into full swing Dan, Jordan, and Autumn traveled to Madge Lake for a break from school to relax and rejuvenate. On June 30th 2024, the three of them dressed up planning to go to the beach to take pictures and catch some sun, however they wouldn’t make it all the way, as on a particular blue bridge, Dan would get on one knee and ask that all important question, to which Jordan happily said yes.

We cannot wait to share this next phase of our relationship with our loved ones next September and for the rest of forever.
