Whee is a St. John’s newest (fully renovated in Oct to Nov 2023) and one of the largest indoor playgrounds that offers over 8,000 square foot for children to play. Our design includes a three-level structure with a huge ball pool, a ball blaster arena, wave slides, drop slides, mountain slides, tube slides, and rolling slides. We also offer a stand alone ninja course as well as a spider tower. These areas engage children 12 years old and under. We don’t forget our little friends. We have one area dedicated to offer fun to toddlers. They can enjoy climbing, walking, jumping, sliding on our soft-play toys

Cape Spear has multiple claims to fame! As the oldest lighthouse in NL and the Easternmost point in North America! Hold on to your hat as it can be quite windy on the Cape, but there are many lovely trails to walk. You can tour the original lighthouse and see how light keepers and their families lived. Tour guides dress is period clothing, and often put off fun old-timey games during the summer on the lawn!

Middle Cove Lookout

This is where we had our engagement photos done! A favourite place for us to visit over the years. Caplin often roll on this beach at a certain point in the summer, and you can often see whales at the mouth of the bay feeding on these small fish. There are also hiking trails located here as well as a look out on the hillside overlooking the bay.

Topsail Beach Cave

A local rocky beach close to Megan’s parent’s house. There is a playground close to the beach, fire pits, and picnic tables. Trails located to the left of the parking lot can give you different views of Bell Island.

Located in the small town of Wabana on Bell Island, the Number 2 Mine Tour brings you down into what is left of the mines that once stretched miles underneath the cold Atlantic Ocean! Take the Bell Island Ferry over to explore this small island and its mining history!

Individual with knee or hip issues may find this tour difficult as the entrance/exit of the mine is a steep incline.

Book a guided tour to see the oldest fossils ever discovered in Canada! Back when life was still found in the ocean, these fossils are from 580-541 million years ago!

This would be a full day trip out and back. You must book a tour in order to view these fossils. There is a moderate difficulty hike to reach these fossils and we recommend bringing thick socks to wear as you have to take your shoes off to climb on the rock faces where the fossils are located.

Ferryland Lighthouse

Located a little beyond the Mistaken Point tour location, the Ferryland Lighthouse is the location where the first and last contact with the Titanic was made during her famous maiden voyage that ended in tragedy. A small historical point with tons of information, and a timeline of that fateful night the Titanic sunk.

If you’ve ever wanted to see these little birds called puffins, Elliston is your best bet! It’s also the town in North America with the most root cellars, you can see their doors tucked into the sides of hills! There’s a puffin lookout, and we recommend bringing binoculars if you want to see them up close!

Devil's Footprints

An interesting geological phenomenon located in a small but beautiful town of Keels! Multiple films have scouted visuals from Keels, with a few scenes from “Maude” being filmed here, and the independent film “King’s Tide” being filmed here! We recommend watching both films before you visit so that you can compare what you see in the films with what you view in real life!

Terra Nova National Park

A national park located in Central NL where you can go tenting. There are multiple hiking trails, playground locations, kayaking rentals, and a shallow pond you can go swimming in (Sandy Pond)! Terra Nova is also a light reserve, meaning on a clear night there is little to no light pollution and you can clearly see stars and any planets that are visible!

Dover Fault Interpretation Centre

Dover is the hometown of Megan’s parents, where her grandparents and aunts and uncles still live! The Dover Fault has wonderful views of the town and Bonavista Bay!

The Fault forms a tectonic boundary between northern portions of the Gander and Avalon Zones of the Newfoundland Appalachians.
Its one of the most important geological structures in understanding Newfoundlands geology and evolution of the Appalachain Mountains. It can be traced throughout the island, and geophysical surveys across the fault indicate that it is a fundamental structure that extends downward for tens of kilometers, transecting the full thickness of the crust. The surface expression of this great break is well developed in its namesake, the Town of Dover.

The beginning of the fault line that ends in Dover can be seen on the guided hiking tour of Mistaken Point!

North Atlantic Aviation Museum

Located in Central NL in Gander, the North Atlantic Aviation Museum covers the time period from 1935 to 2001, and provides a rich narrative of Gander’s short but fascinating history.

Learn about Gander’s role as an important strategic base during WWII, how the town earned the nickname “Crossroads of the World”, why Gander was known throughout the Eastern Bloc, and finally hear the story of Gander’s unexpected role, in the days following 9/11.

The Newfoundland Insectarium is a world-class nature museum just outside Deer Lake, NL. It features thousands of live and mounted insects, arachnids, and arthropods from around the world. There is a butterfly room where you can see many different types of butterflies, and if you’re lucky one just might land on you!

L'Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site

Located up on the tip of the Northern Peninsula, this National Historic Site reenacts a time when Vikings settled on the shores of NL. With tours of sod-houses, and an operating blacksmith on site, come and explore more of NL and travel through time!

This is typically a 2-day trip with travel up to the tip of the Northern Peninsula and exploring the Historical Site taking a full day, and then travel back down to the Western/Central part of the province being your second day.
