What date should I RSVP by?
The formal invitation to follow will provide these details. This will be updated on the website then!
What is the dress code?
The dress code for our wedding is 'formal attire'. We suggest that men wear a suit in any color and women wear a cocktail dress or a nice pantsuit.
We ask that you refrain from wearing colours traditionally reserved for the bride, this includes white, ivory or cream colours.
Please be aware that our wedding is in winter, so dressing warmly is a must to factor in as well! There will be places to hang coats inside the venue.
What is the easiest way to get to and from Lains Barn?
We recommend opting for taxis or Ubers as the primary mode of transportation, given the limited size of the venue's car park. In the spirit of a carefree evening, we encourage everyone to unwind responsibly. Check out our 'Travel' section for multiple local taxi services to book in advance. Additionally, feel free to call taxis or Ubers on the day of and post-evening.
What time should I arrive for the ceremony?
Please be at the venue between 12:00pm - 12:30pm. This allows you time to grab a quick drink and mingle with fellow guests and be seated prior to the ceremony starting at 1pm. Please note that drinks must be finished prior to entering the barn for the ceremony.
We would ask all guests to be seated inside the barn at least 15 minutes prior to the ceremony beginning at 1:00pm.
Can I find a schedule of the day?
A 'schedule' tab will be added closer to our special day for all the details related to the ceremony, reception & evening party.
Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?
Our wedding will be held inside Lains Barn. Additionally, our reception & evening party will also be held within the barn.
Post-ceremony canapes and drinks will be held in an adjoining large room to the barn, with the option to also venture outside.
Is there parking available at the venue?
Yes, there is a limited size carpark at the top of the venue. However, we would urge guests to book taxis where possible to Lains Barn.
What will the weather be like in January?
Cold. Well, most likely 😂 January is Winter in the UK. Ideally we will have a clear, sunny day with some chill in the air. But, please rest assured the venue is fully heated and has lots of undercover space & fun to be had regardless of the weather outside. There's always a chance of snow in January too!
So, please dress appropriately for the weather, and we will be providing blankets for the afternoon/evening if desired.
Do I need to book a hotel for your wedding?
Well, if you're coming from Australia - YES! Please check out our 'Travel' tab for further tips and accommodation recommendations.
Additionally, for any of our guests in the UK who would like the option of accommodation, please check out the above tab, or feel free to get in touch with Jordy or Mike.
Who should I tell about my dietary requirements/food allergies?
There will be a specific question pertaining to this in the invites, so please leave your details there and we will make sure you are accommodated for!
Can I bring a plus 1?
Please refer to your invitations to see if you have been given a 'plus-1'. Due to the size of our guest list, we cannot accommodate extra people at the wedding. We only have spaces for the guests listed on your invitation. If you have any questions or queries please reach out to Mike or Jordy.
Can we bring our children?
We adore the little ones in our lives, but due to the nature of our celebration, we've decided to keep our wedding an adults-only affair. While we won't be able to accommodate children for most guests, we understand that there are exceptional circumstances. In consideration of our close family traveling all the way from Australia, we're making a special exception for their very young ones, and for our niece & nephew who will be in the ceremony.
Leaving the kiddos at home allows everyone to fully embrace an adults-only evening of fun, where you can let your hair down and make the most of this joyous celebration!
Do you have a gift registry?
Your presence at our wedding is present enough! But, should you wish to bring a gift or card to our wedding, there will be a gift table for your convenience. Alternatively, a contribution towards our honeymoon fund would be much appreciated, which you can find on our 'registry' tab.
Who should I contact if I have any further questions?
Please feel free to drop Jordy a Whatsapp on +44 07367665678 or Mike at +44 07837457575. Jordy is also available on email at: jordy_gray7@hotmail.com
Alternatively, hit Jordy up on social media. Just bear with us for those in Australia as the UK timezone difference might mean a delayed reply!
Questions & Answers For Aussie Guests
What can we do whilst over in the UK?
Feel free to hit up the 'things to do' tab for some of our recommendations for activities. We'll also be organising some events & days out in the days prior to the wedding for friends and family who have made the trip over.
Please also feel free to turn your visit to the UK into a 'Europe' style vacation, as once you're all the way over here you might as well if you can!
