Justin and Jordyn met in Detroit, Michigan as fellow ENT residents at Wayne State. Their shared values of friends, family, sports and socializing brought them together as great friends. Their endless laughter and enjoyment of each other's company at work quickly flourished to a close friendship outside of the hospital.

They grew closer as they supported each other through the Covid pandemic. When things started opening back up, Justin introduced Jordyn to Ann Arbor and shared his favorite college memories with her while they made new ones together. They spent the entire summer together, meeting each others close friends and families. They officially started dating in the Fall of 2021 (confirming suspicions held by many for months prior).

They had one last year together in Detroit before Jordyn moved to Pittsburgh for fellowship and Justin stayed behind to finish his last year of residency. This was a busy year for the both of them but they made efforts to overcome the distance and grow their relationship stronger.

They made sacrifices for each other and eventually found jobs in Norfolk, Virginia, where they moved together with their dog Ralph in Summer 2023. They got engaged at home just before Jordyn's birthday, where Justin surprised Jordyn with a dinner at one of their favorite local restaurants the night before an adventurous weekend in New York City.
