There's a reason we moved here - St. Simons is an amazing place to live, and therefore also visit. We appreciate that many of you are coming from far away, and we hope you use our wedding as an excuse to have a little vacation! See below for just some of the many activities and experiences there are to enjoy here.
St. Simons' "downtown". Exactly what you think of when you think little beach town. Shops, restaurants, bars, and great views from the pier. You can often watch people reel in fish and sharks. Great spot for sunset viewing.
It's why you came and why we moved here! East beach is the main beach on the island. You can park here. You can also try Gould's inlet down the street which has limited parking. Massengale park also has beach access. If you stay at King & Prince, they have their own beach access.
Golf is one of the most popular activities on St. Simons, and the island is home to many pro golfers. Reach out to either Mike or Jordyn if you'd like to schedule a tee time. Jordyn's dad can get you a discounted rate at his golf club, Sea Palms.
Southeast adventures is an awesome company to book kayaking our other boat tours through. We have kayaked with them before and seen dolphins on our trip! It's also a great way to see the beautiful marsh rivers of SSI.
This is an awesome activity! Great, very knowledgable people who care about the South Georgia waterways. They'll cast their shrimp nets, pull them up, and you get to see what they catch: sharks, shrimp, fish, horseshoe crabs, sometimes turtles!
Climb all the steps up to the top for the best view of the island and the ocean. Great way to see it all and quick activity in the heart of the village.
If you've decided to make a vacation out of it (like you should!) there's some awesome things a bit further out and off the island.
Another island that is part of the Georgia "Golden Isles". Just one island to the south of us and only about a 20 minute drive. Amazing bike trails and beaches. Can be a day trip or you can stay the night. Check out driftwood beach and the renowned sea turtle center.
You do have to pay a small fee to get on the island.
Accessible only by ferry, Cumberland island is the coolest place to visit if you have the time. Famous for wild ponies that roam the island, you can walk the many nature trails and enjoy the sights. Beautiful ruins from old mansions owned by families like the Carnegies. Also great beach here. You can camp, too, if you're into that!
