It all started as the best of friends in the year of 2019 leading into Covid. We enjoyed spending time together with friends and laughing as the days went by. Throughout Covid and all the shutdowns, we continued our friendship at house shindigs. This always included aggressive card games, lots of laughs, and a good bit of over indulging in adult beverages. We used to spend our Friday nights at a local bar entertaining each other with people watching. What I realized, is that, a moment never passed when I was with Ting that I never smiled or laughed or enjoyed her genuine company. Life continued on… job changes happened, friend groups shattered, and we got older… but what remained the same was our hilarious and fun friendship. We both found ourselves at a broken point in our lives and we clung to each other as besties. Spending every chance we got, trying to make the most of it. We were each others wedding dates, movie dates, and even each others shoulder to cry on. That is, when I realized she was different. Maybe she was the one for me. It took me some time to understand that my person was right in front of me. I then, made the move. I told Ting we were going to be together and not see anyone else. She LOVES to tell people it was my decision. From that point forward, we have built a life together. We have had many of challenges in our relationship, but we come out on top every time. These challenges might include a new garage door motor (she promised it would take 30 minutes….4 hours later), maybe painting the whole house, and JUST maybe installing a sink. This was better than the marriage counseling we went to! I am excited to see the years ahead as we continue this journey together. Welcome to the wild ride!
