Please Read Everything Below Carefully!
Puerto Rico is a beautiful island located in the Carribean that is an unincorporated U.S. territory. Most people speak Spanish, although many people speak English as well, especially in high tourist areas (airports, car rental offices, hotels, etc.) The currency is the U.S. dollar. Similar to any other long-distance vacation, notify your bank/CC company ahead of time so no charges are denied. Verify your specific cell phone plan, but you should be able to use any major carrier on the island without additional roaming charges.
Do I need a passport?
U.S. citizens do NOT need a passport to fly to PR; it will be the same protocols as flying from state to state. Remember beginning May 7, 2025 you must have REAL ID-compliant driver's license or ID (star ID) if not you will need a passport or passport card.
Do I need to rent a car?
No. Depending on where you will be staying. Otherwise, the hotel (venue) is around 3 miles away and Uber is available in PR. Renting a car is a good idea if you want to explore the island outside of the general San Juan area.
How far ahead should I arrive to PR?
That is entirely up to you. We specifically chose October 11th because October 13th is a federal holiday and some people will be off of work/out of school, making traveling a little less stressful!
What is the typical weather/temperature in PR during Oct?
The weather is often unpredictable. Hurricane season is June to November, with peak months being August/September; per hotel staff, it is extremely rare to have dangerous storms in October. Average temperatures during Oct are 77*F.
Will the venue have parking for guests not staying the the hotel?
Self-parking is $15. Valet parking is $30 Uber and other rideshare options available as well.
What is the dress code?
Tropical cocktail. We want you to be comfortable and wear bright colors (but obvs still look your best)! No jeans, shorts, t-shirts, or flip-flops.
What type of food will be served?
The food will be traditional Puerto Rican dishes. If you have allergies/restrictions, please let the bride/groom know.
Will there be an open bar? What about non-alcoholic options?
Yes, the reception will have an open bar with an assortment of liquors, wines, and Medalla (Puerto Rican Beer). We will also have sodas and waters as non-alcoholic options.
Can I bring a plus one?
If you are allowed to bring a +1 it will be indicated on your invitation as such. The venue has a strict max capacity of 100 people, so please do not bring guests without us knowing.
Can I bring my kids?
No. This is an adult-only ceremony unless you are a close family member who has been told by the Bride/Groom.
