Our Story

Our Story

6 years ago, Jose and I worked at Spring Creek Barbeque at different locations. I worked at the Atascocita location and he worked at the Rodger's Road location. We were both managers at the time, but I had a habit of picking up catering jobs to make some extra cash. The catering manager I worked with most often worked out of the Rodger's Road location, which is where Jose and I had our first conversation.

One afternoon, I had finished a catering and went back to the store to unload the trailer and clean up. Once we had finished, I didn't have anywhere to be, so I decided to hang out for a bit before driving 45 minutes home.

Jose was working that day. He was good friends with the catering manager, so they were standing in the back talking mess to each other about how Jose doesn't actually ever do anything at work. I jumped into the conversation and said that I could tell he didn't just by looking at him. From there, we were all joking around and talking mess to each other. After about 10 minutes, I decided it was time to head home.

I ended up going to a friend's house that night and couldn't stop thinking about him! We had only had a short, 10-minute conversation, but the feeling I got just being in his presence was one I desired to feel again. So, that night at my friend's house, I decided to find him.

It only took me about 30 minutes to find him on Instagram. Immediately, I followed him. Within minutes, he had followed me back. At this point, I needed an excuse to talk to him, so I posted a picture on Instagram of me in a Spring Creek shirt with my snapchat username in the caption, just so he would see it and add me on snapchat. To my surprise, it worked, and it took less than two minutes! We started texting that night, and the rest is history.

Throughout our 6 years together, we have been through a rollercoaster of events. We went from renting a mobile trailer to staying in a hotel, then to getting our first apartment. We signed a 13 month lease, then just two days after resigning for another 12 months, we found out we were pregnant! We decided almost immediately that we needed to break the lease and buy a home for our growing family. One month before our daughter was born, we bought our first home.

In June of 2021, our daughter, Sophia, was born. For the last three years, our family has faced some hardships, but everyday we grow stronger. We are grateful for what we have built since the day we met, and blessed for what we have been given. We are truly excited to take this next step and continue to build our lives and grow our family!
