Celebrate With UsWe are so excited to celebrate our wedding with you! Our festivities are split over two days. Please know—we truly love and cherish the little ones in our lives, and children are more than welcome to join us for all of our wedding events. Welcome Dinner &amp; Reception – Join us the night before the ceremony for a festive evening of food, drinks, and dancing. This dinner will also serve as our reception, so come ready to celebrate! Ceremony &amp; Brunch – The following morning, we’ll exchange our vows in an intimate ceremony, followed by a cozy brunch to continue the celebration. Accommodations are available for anyone who wishes to stay overnight, but please know that we are grateful for any part of the weekend you can join us. Whether you come for one event or both, your presence means the world to us.

The Invitation

Every love story starts somewhere—ours just happened to begin with a message that changed everything. We never expected an online message to lead to forever, but one conversation turned into a lifetime. Before we ever met face to face, we spent weeks exchanging long messages, opening up about our childhoods, families, dreams, and values. Our conversations flowed easily, and from the very beginning, everything seemed to align. It all started with a simple message: Elisa asked Joe about his field in grad school, physical therapy. She was the first girl to send him more than just a “hi,” and she really wanted to know who he was and whether they were truly compatible. What followed were hours upon hours of honest conversations, where we discovered not only how much we had in common — shared beliefs, family values, and even both being raised Catholic — but also how well our differences complemented each other. Elisa is bubbly and outgoing; Joe is sweet and reserved. Half opposites, half the same — the perfect balance. By the time we finally agreed to meet in person, our relationship was already built on something solid. Our very first date was a walk in the park — with Joe sneaking out of his parents’ house under the cover of a “study group.” That first step in person confirmed what our hearts already knew: this was something real, something lasting. From that day on, we grew together — stumbling through our 20s, supporting each other through grad school, new jobs, big moves, and bigger dreams. Along the way, travel became one of the cornerstones of our story. For Elisa, it had always been a passion — from studying abroad in China to volunteering in Mexico. For Joe, travel was more of a distant dream, something he hoped for one day but never imagined prioritizing. Meeting Elisa changed that. She dreamed of traveling for a whole summer after law school, and Joe not only encouraged it — he joined her. After Elisa’s graduation, we took the leap: breaking our lease and setting off on an adventure through Morocco, Tenerife, and across Europe. That summer was more than just a trip — it was where we learned how to build a life together. We cooked in tiny kitchens, hiked trails, played soccer, and promised each other that the life we wanted to create would be grounded in joy, family, and simplicity. We discovered how little we needed to be happy, and how much we could rely on each other. Travel also showed us the depth of Joe’s quiet devotion. From driving eight hours through snow to make it onto a flight to Puerto Rico after a hurricane, to helping Elisa’s great aunt and family get supplies in the aftermath, Joe never questioned whether he should be there. If it mattered to Elisa, it mattered to him — and he embraced her family and heritage as if it were his own. Puerto Rico was the beginning of our travels as a couple, and also where Joe fell in love not just with Elisa, but with her family too. Five years later, we’ve learned that love is both choosing someone who aligns with your values and falling for the little quirks that make them who they are — like Joe’s Buffalo accent, which Elisa now finds heartwarmingly familiar. We may have met in grad school, but what we really found was the beginning of our life together — built on laughter, support, adventure, and an endless belief in each other’s dreams.

Think sparkle, shine, and all the fun of dressing up. This is a chance to embrace full glam, enjoy a formal celebration, and feel your absolute best—because moments like this to celebrate are rare and truly special. For the Ceremony &amp; Brunch, we’re going with an Elevated Tropical Garden Party vibe: formal, bright pops of color, elegant, and perfect for a beautiful morning celebration. Most importantly, please don’t feel like you need to buy anything new. Our themes are just suggestions, not a strict dress code. Wear any formalwear you may already have from past weddings, events, or special occasions. We just want you to have fun, feel your best, and enjoy celebrating with us. Your presence is the most important thing, and everything else is just extra sparkle!

Accommodations We know most of our loved ones are only about an hour away from the venue, so please don’t feel pressured to book a hotel unless it makes the weekend easier for you. We’ve reserved room blocks at two nearby hotels for anyone who would prefer to stay overnight and skip the drive. With an open bar at the welcome dinner and an early ceremony the next morning, staying close by may feel like the more relaxing option—but we completely understand if home is the best choice for you. Whatever you decide, we’re just grateful to celebrate with you, whether it’s for one event or the whole weekend.

The White Inn We’ve reserved a few rooms at The White Inn for members of our wedding party (and anyone who’d like to turn the weekend into a little getaway). Since it’s a boutique-style hotel, each room has its own unique layout and there are only a handful of each type available. If you’d like to stay at The White Inn, please reach out to Elisa so she can coordinate with the hotel and make sure your preferred room type is added to our block at a discounted rate. The Captain's Quarter's is a local vacation rental home located near the Dunkirk Pier, just a short drive from the Lighthouse. It is a great option for larger families or groups. The home has 3 bedrooms (3 Queen beds, 1 King Bed, and 1 Twin bed), and 2 baths. It also includes full kitchen, a porch, and a back yard dining area. There is a two night minimum stay requirement, but it's ideal for anyone who is looking to turn the weekend into a family getaway. The El Rancho is a local vacation rental home located near the Dunkirk Pier, just a short drive from the Lighthouse. It is a great option for smaller families who would like a whole home to themselves. The home has 3 bedrooms (1 Queen beds, 1 Double Bed, and 2 Twin beds), and 1 bath. It also includes full kitchen, and a back yard dining area. Like the Captain's Quarter's, there is a two night minimum stay requirement, but it's ideal for anyone who is looking to turn the weekend into a family getaway. El Rancho

This cottage located in the Point Gratiot neighborhood , a short walk from the Lighthouse. It is a full vacation rental home with 2 bedrooms (1 Queen, 1 King, and 1 double futon), and 1 bathroom. The property also offers a full kitchen, a large backyard, and lake views from a lovely little indoor porch.


The Cottage is perfect for small families, or groups who would prefer to share traditional lake home experience in place of hotel accommodations.

Clarion Hotel We also have a room block at the Clarion Hotel for guests who would like to stay right on the water and close to the venue. It’s a great choice for anyone who decides to stay overnight last minute, if all the other accommodation options are booked up. The Clarion is not our first choice, as it is a bit dated, however, it is on the waterfront with bars and restaurants just a few steps away! To make things simple, our block currently includes the lowest room rate (double queen, no view), since the Clarion will be in peak season with sailing and fishing competitions. If you’d prefer an upgraded room type, just let Elisa know and she can coordinate with the hotel to add your preferred option to the block at a discounted rate.
