Our Wedding

We met through a mutual friend, which proves that sometimes, your friends do make good decisions. From the beginning, there was an instant connection... and also an ongoing debate over who was shyer on our first date. Julia says it was definitely Joe. Joe swears Julia barely made eye contact. To this day, neither of us is backing down. Our first official outing also nearly ended at a restaurant where Joe’s parents were hanging out. As soon as he realized it, he did an instant 180 and led Julia in the opposite direction without a word. Crisis averted. And believe it or not... the hiding didn’t stop there. Julia stayed a secret for about a month—a mystery woman known only to Joe and his group chat. But unlike Joe’s parents, Julia’s parents knew all about him from day one—and have been fully on board ever since. From there, things moved quickly—in the best way. We went from long conversations and spontaneous weekend plans to signing a lease and pretending we knew how to be adults. We learned how to “share” closet space (Julia won), assemble IKEA furniture without breaking up (miracle) and that one person’s ‘organized chaos’ is another person’s actual nightmare. After 2 years of apartment living, we decided to expand our small family and adopt our beloved cat, Max, who quickly took over the apartment—and our hearts. He’s now the self-appointed supervisor of all wedding planning and a constant reminder that we can’t have nice furniture. We’ve learned a lot about each other since then. Joe has a magical talent for falling asleep mid-conversation on the couch in absolutely wild positions—and he snores like a chainsaw. Julia takes forever to get ready, needs at least 100 alarms to wake up, and somehow still manages to be fashionably late. It’s chaotic, but it works. Then came the proposal. Joe, battling a full-blown cold, took Julia to a quiet, fancy restaurant and pushed through dinner like a champ. Thankfully, they were given a private room—which came in handy when he got down on one knee. Julia, totally caught off guard, blurted out, “OMG, shut up,” before saying yes. Now we’re heading to Puerto Vallarta to celebrate our wedding with the people we love most. We can’t wait to share sun, sand, and the next chapter of this story—with all of you by our side.

There are several lodging options to choose from. The Buenaventura Grand Hotel provides an all-inclusive stay in a peaceful, relaxing setting. The Buenaventura Grand is a 30 minute walk or 10 minute drive to and from wedding events. Los Arcos Suites also offers an all-inclusive experience, but its location along the town’s boardwalk makes for a more vibrant, lively atmosphere. Los Arcos is just a few minutes walk to and from wedding events. For a more budget-friendly choice, we also recommend condos on either Airbnb, VRBO, or PVRPV.COM, which offer a non–all-inclusive experience. If you have any questions or concerns regarding lodging or transportation, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Our wedding will be in Puerto Vallarta, and guests should book flights into Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport (airport code: PVR).Puerto Vallarta is a major travel destination with direct flights from many U.S. cities. Once you arrive at PVR, transportation to the hotel area is quick and easy, most resorts are about 15–30 minutes from the airport.We can’t wait to celebrate with you in Mexico! 🌴🍹💕

Transportation in Puerto Vallarta is easy and convenient! Taxis, Ubers, and hotel shuttles are all readily available from the airport and around town. Most resorts are only 15–30 minutes from the airport.If you’re staying at one of our recommended hotels, transportation can usually be arranged directly through the hotel. We’ll share any wedding-day transportation details closer to the big day.Whether you’re heading to the beach, exploring town, or coming to celebrate with us, getting around is simple. Calling all Elizabeth Taylor fans

Puerto Vallarta holds a special place in Hollywood history, thanks to the iconic Elizabeth Taylor. In the 1960s, she and Richard Burton fell in love while filming The Night of the Iguana right here in Puerto Vallarta. Their romance helped put this beautiful seaside town on the map, transforming it into the vibrant destination it is today. During their time here, Elizabeth Taylor made Puerto Vallarta her second home, living at Casa Kimberly, her stunning hillside home overlooking the city. Today, you can still see Casa Kimberly, and it now operates as a boutique hotel and restaurant—offering a glimpse into this legendary love story. She and Richard Burton were even known for the famous bridge connecting their homes, which remains a beloved landmark.
