Our story
In 2017 at American Legion Post 33 I first met what I didn’t know at the time would be my future bride. It was a night of swing dancing, and I was just a novice but she was a pro. I watched her dance, and the way she moved and couldn’t dare imagine myself out there. We had a few small conversations and the night went on, nothing more than a night of dancing and standing in the corner. In the fall of 2018 we both entered our first semester of college at PSC. I walked into my second class of the day ( English Comp. ) and saw one friendly and familiar face with an open seat right next to her. I sat down and reintroduced myself and we went on with our day. Again nothing more than a quick friendly interaction. As the semester went on we found ourselves making small talk more and more and just enjoying each others company. After months of commenting on each others tattoos, talking about music, and trying to figure out what our professor possibly wrote on the whiteboard with his chicken scratch handwriting, the semester ended. Again we were off on our ways both moving forward with our lives. She really focused in on school and I went straight into the trades doing air conditioning. In 2020 we both where overwhelmed with work and school and having never hung out before and not ever being social we decided to go out on a date. I picked her up in my black dodge (Brucey) and we went to Pensacola beach where we just walked up and down the sand for hours talking. I found myself not wanting to drop her back off at her apartment but being the gentleman I am, I unlocked the truck, opened her door and let her leave. Alas we both had enjoyed each others company, but when would we see each other again. Well one day I saw she had posted on social media seeing if anyone had a truck to help her go pick up a desk for her room to do her online classes on. I have a truck I thought, and after convincing her i didn’t mind helping out, we were off again. A few more meetups like this and I found myself strictly thinking about when I would get to see her again. We both were so focused on work and school we really didn’t feel either one of us had time for dating but after I persisted on we managed to make it work and four years later I get to marry my assistant coach, co parent to our fur baby’s, keeper of my secrets and best friend.
