Guest arrival to Castle Doria. The Castle is in the pedestrian zone of Portovenere. From the main square, there is a 0.3 mile, 150-foot paved walk that takes roughly 15-20 minutes to complete. We advise guests to wear comfortable shoes on the walk and change into appropriate footwear at the Castle. A designated walking shoe storage area will be provided.


The wedding will begin promptly at 5 pm. We recommend getting to the Castle no later than 4:50.

5 - 5:30 PM

Traditional civil ceremony conducted in Italian with English translation in the Castle's Giardino Ipostila.

5:30 - 7:15 PM

Aperitivo (Cocktail Hour) in the Castle's Ampitheater featuring the following food and beverages:


Brut prosecco, Aperol spritz, Perroni beer, N/A tropical fruit cocktail, wine selection, still & sparkling water, and soft drinks


Rustic Station

Platters of traditional cured meats: Tuscan DOP prosciutto crudo, rustic salami, sweet Colonnata lard, Bologna mortadella

Sgabei (fried bread dough) with soft cheeses (stracchino and gorgonzola)

Grilled vegetables and delicate oil-preserved treats, including mint-scented peppers, zucchini with curly parsley, and eggplant with small rosemary crostini


Seafood Station

Marinated anchovies, Ligurian style

Warm salad of squid and cuttlefish served on radicchio leaves

Fish mousse on crispy crackers


Fried Station

(Cooked on the spot and served in bamboo boats or cones):

Vegetables and greens in light tempura (crispy onions, carrots, peppers, zucchini, eggplant)

Frisceu with olives and peppers (traditional Ligurian fritters)

Crispy seafood: baby squid, mussels, whitebait fritters, and Frisceu with shellfish


Bakery

Cascade of traditional white bread and multigrain bread

A selection of focaccias: rosemary and classic

7:30 - 9 PM

Plated dinner service and speeches.

Cake cutting, followed by first dances and an Open-air party in the castle's Sala Ipostila with an open bar, music, and dancing under the stars.
