During the flood of 2019, Joe was living in Brighton, IL at a weekend house to commute to work. At the time, Meghan was working at Regal Beagle in Godfrey, IL. Joe and his buddies went out on there last weekend before moving back to Calhoun County after the river had gone down and they decided Regal Beagle was the place to go. Meghan saw Joe and his friends walk inside and she told her friend “Oh my gosh that kid was CUTE!!!” eventually they came out to the bar after dinner to drink for the remainder of the night. While he was at the bar, his friend told him they were going to find a girl for him. Joe shook his head and said “Yeah good luck with that” Eventually his friend pointed Meghan out and said, “What about her?” In the words of Joe: “I saw those blue eyes and I was captured”. He eventually asked the bartender to give me Meghan his Snapchat and she brought it over to Meghan. Meghan told her, “If he wants my Snapchat, he can come over and get it himself” She laughed and walked back over to the bar to tell him. 2 hours later, with 6 beers, and 3 crown apple shots, Joe asked Meghan on a date; Alton fireworks. She agreed and they had their first date: (an absolute disaster). We both didn’t talk to each other and went to a party together and Joe left Meghan at the party without telling her. The next day, Meghan told Joe she would make it up to him: he took her on a second date to McCarry’s Dairyland to get ice cream. The second date went much better and they planned on a 3rd date. He then asked her to Grafton Fireworks. They went to the fireworks and then to a party at his friend's house. 2 dogs, a house, and almost 4 years later, Joe proposed on the beach in Myrtle Beach, SC.
