QUY NHON

Ky Co - Eo Gio

Ky Co beach is about 30 minutes from the city. The beach is clean, sandy, and has a pristine beauty.

Eo Gio is located about 15 minutes from Ky Co beach, and the scenery is breathtaking. We love the feeling of walking along the trails, relaxing, and enjoying the taste of the sea breeze.

Tours for Ky Co - Eo Gio can be arranged with Maia Resort

Hoang Hau (Queen) Beach

The place gained its name because it’s used to be a bathing area reserved for Nam Phuong Hoang Hau during her lifetime.

The area has beautiful curving sea lanes, clear blue seawater, and countless oval stones stacked on top like eye-catching eggs, which inspired its other name: "Egg Beach"

The beach is only an uber or taxi ride away. You can also arrange transportation with Maia Resort.

Fun Fact: Thanh has celebrated numerous birthdays here. This location was even considered as a potential wedding venue, but unfortunately, there is no resort nor long sandy beach :)

Ong Nui Temple

Located right across from Maia Resort is Ong Nui Temple. For your morning exercise while at the resort (LOL), climb the 600 steps to visit the biggest Buddha statue in South East Asia and take in the panorama view of Quy Nhon City.

SOUTHERN VIETNAM

Cu Chi Tunnels

As the Cold War between the US and the USSR intensified in the late 1950s, America became worried about Ho’s Communist inclinations and sent troops to augment the struggling South Vietnamese army. The Vietnam War, between the American army and Ho’s forces—Viet Cong—went on for nearly 20 years. Both sides suffered heavy casualties, but the Vietnamese held the upper hand, deploying guerrilla warfare tactics aided by the Cu Chi Tunnels.

Cat Tien National Park

The park is located about 150km from Ho Chi Minh City, which is not too far away. Tourists can catch a bus, joining an organized tour or riding motorbikes to get to the place.

It is shown on Cat Tien National Park TripAdvisor page that the remarkable here is the Crocodile Lake Wetland Complex (locally called: Bàu Sấu) and the guided night safari trip to the wildlife. It is not enough if you just have a Cat Tien National Park day trip, you should spend a night there and enjoy a guided night safari. This is the only place in Vietnam having this service. With a price of around 150,000 VND to 250,000 VND, tourists are carried and guided through the forest and seeing the animals running around, finding their prey or hiding from their predators.

CENTRAL VIETNAM

Phong Nha–Kẻ Bàng National Park

Vietnam’s headline natural wonder is the jaw-dropping Hang Son Doong, one of the world's largest caves, located in the heart of Phong Nha–Kẻ Bàng National Park. The tour for this cave is a whooping $3000 and you have to book months in advance (this is Thanh's bucket list item!)

But fear not because Phong Nha-Ke Bang has a wealth of other caves that you can clamber, crawl, boat or zipline through for a fraction of the cost. Jo and Thanh did a 3D2N Hang Tien Exploration that included trekking through the jungle, crossing rivers, and exploring dark caves.

Hue Imperial Citadel

Known as Vietnam’s seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Hue Imperial Citadel has always been the top attraction when visiting the Imperial City of Hue.

Since Hue of Vietnam was chosen to be the capital of the Southern Kingdom under the Nguyen Lords’ Dynasty, Hue Imperial Citadel was built as the place for the emperor to hold important national occasions and the Royal to work and live as well. The citadel is located on the North bank of the Perfume River, inside Hue city. It is a huge complex covering an area of 520ha and comprising three circles of ramparts, Kinh Thanh Hue (Hue Capital Citadel), Hoang Thanh (Royal Citadel), and Tu Cam Thanh (Forbidden Citadel).

You can also participate in Nigh of Hue Imperial Citadel held every Saturday. At the night, the Royal Palace is full of light which makes the architecture more shimmering and magnificent. Also, the royal rituals will be reproduced and unique cultural and artistic activities will take place. This will be a very interesting highlight for your exploration of Hue Citadel. More specifically, recently Hue Imperial Citadel has officially opened to welcome visitors from 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. This is an opportunity for you to visit and see the brilliant works in sparkling lights.

Tips: you can rent Vietnam traditional clothes to take pictures at the citadel
