We met at Mercer University in Atlanta Georgia while each studying for a doctorate of physical therapy degree. While at school, we continuously saw each other in the gym, on the basketball court, and in the Quad playing spikeball and foursquare. We even became Wiffleball champions on a team with our friends. Among countless hours of schoolwork and studying we still managed to find time to visit multiple hiking trails and campsites in north Georgia. We completed the entire georgia section on the Appalachian trail and we bonded over our mutual love for the outdoors. We also enjoyed many dates around Atlanta whether it was a brewery, authentic restaurant, or professional sports game. We always had the best time in each other’s company.

While in Atlanta our mutual love for God grew as we attended Passion City Church together. Since then, we have been attending Centerpoint Church and have made God the center of our relationship.

Since the beginning of our relationship we have been trialed with long-distance, living with parents, and commuting long distances to work. Throughout every challenge, we have grown closer together; and our love has withstood every test.

Joe proposed in Flagstaff, Arizona just before hiking to the highest point in the entire state. The proposal happened in the Aspen forest at Mount Humphrey during the fall season with beautiful golden leafs. Amazingly, on the trail Joe asked a lady to take our picture who ended up being a photographer. Joe tried to slip in the secret that he was about to propose, but Callie eagerly wanted him to come join her for the picture. Thankfully when Joe knelt down on one knee, the unknowing photographer switched the camera to video-record and captured the special moment!

After careful consideration and much debate we have decided to elope in the presence of our parents and of God in our local church, Centerpoint, before starting our careers as travel physical therapists. After eloping we are moving to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for our first 3 month position. We hope to still enjoy a reception with friends and family in the near future to celebrate our love and marriage.

We do not know where our future will take us, but we are beyond excited to know that wherever we go, we will always have each other!

We are also so thankful for the constant love and support of all of our friends and family. So many people have contributed to the making of amazing memories throughout our relationship.
