If you are wondering how we met, you came to the right place. Our love story isn’t you’re typical rom com story but I think it’s a pretty common way for people to meet these days. You see we had some help matching from a dating app.

We first matched on Zoosk in May of 2021. You may be wondering who made the first move and if you know me, you know it wasn’t me. Joe definitely sent the first message. Now if you know anything about dating apps you know there’s certain information you can put on your profile for instance your favorite sports teams.

So naturally mine listed the Cowboys aka AMERICAS TEAM while his had some team from San Diego that moved to LA (that team is irrelevant to the story). This was apparently one thing that stood out to Joe being a guy who is into sports. So now you might be wondering well what did his first message say and I’m certainly going to tell you. His first message to me which started it all was “Are the Cowboys really your team of choice?”. Let me tell you this guy has been making me laugh ever since then. I’ll admit though I worried his follow up would be nothing but trash talk about the Cowboys. Thankfully I was wrong.

We continued to text and talk on the phone regularly for a few months before we ever got the chance to meet in person. After all we lived 8 hours from each other and at the time I was temporarily working in El Paso, TX. When I returned home in July we finally had the chance to meet. Now the story of our first weekend together is actually more interesting than this story was but it’s one you’ll have to wait to hear at the wedding.
