Stuart convinced Josephine that they were going to a "work dinner". All week leading up to this "work dinner" Josephine complained and was confused about why they were going so late at night. After they arrived at the Drentlaw's house it rained and hailed for 30 mins. After they finally went inside the house Dawson asked Stuart to look at the boat which was normal for the two of them. This was all a trick to get Josephine down to the dock. Moments before the proposal Stuart and Josephine were looking at the rainbows in the sky.
