History meets nature at Fort Clinch State Park. Whether you’re a history buff, nature lover or a bit of both, enjoy exploring the natural and historic resources of this pristine park. Fort Clinch is a 19th-century masonry coastal fortification, built as part of the Third System of seacoast defense conceived by the United States. It is located on a peninsula near the northernmost point of Amelia Island in Nassau County, Florida. The fort lies to the northeast of Fernandina Beach at the entrance to the Cumberland Sound, in the northeast part of the state.

The Amelia Island Museum of History is located at 233 South Third Street, Fernandina Beach, Florida. It houses exhibits focusing on the history of Nassau County, Florida and is situated inside the old Nassau county jail. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 18, 2009.

Located at the end of Centre Street in Historic Downtown Fernandina Beach, The Welcome Center is in a cute refurbished train depot and is conveniently located just across from the marina . There is a comfort station next door. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and seem genuinely interested in visitors' feedback. There are plenty of maps and brochures available as well.
