We first met in August of 2016, at Shenandoah University the weekend before classes were set to start. In October, we became an official couple. Loaded up into a van full of friends, we took our first roadtrip together in December!

In January of 2017, we went to the farm show for the first time, solidifying our love of milkshake dates. While in school, we enjoyed hammock dates on campus and fun dates to Dinosaur Land! Our shared love of exploring national parks together began with trips to Assateague and Harpers Ferry.

On our first big trip, we hopped on a plane and flew out to Washington to visit family and explore Olympic National Park! Throughout 2018, we also took trips to NYC, Berkley Springs, and Pittsburgh. On campus, we got all dressed up for a Shenandoah gala, and we ran in the Apple Blossom color run.

We started out 2019 with Josh teaching Avery how to ski. Throughout the year, we made music together, explored more National Parks, enjoyed live music at concerts, and spent time with family. Some highlights of the year included moving into our first apartment together and celebrating Josh graduating with a Bachelor of Music in Music Production & Recording Technology from Shenandoah University.

Before the world shut down, we continued to fuel our shared love of travel by taking our first international trip together to Ireland. In April, our sweet pup, Dixie, wiggled her way into our lives. We could not imagine our lives without her! We made the best out of the rest of the year while staying safe. We celebrated Avery graduating with a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and Josh graduating with a Masters in Performing Arts Leadership Management. We also had a blast at Ian and Audrey's wedding.

In 2021, we enjoyed many outdoor activities together: skiing, hiking, running, and kayaking. We spent a lot of time with family: going to pumpkin patches, swimming at the beach, and baking cookies. We think Dixie's favorite part of 2021 was when we moved into a townhouse with a nice yard for her to play in!

We got engaged on November 6th, 2022 at the Virginia State Arboretum Ginkgo Grove (one of our favorite places)!

In January of 2023, we moved into our forever home! It needs a lot of work, but we couldn't be happier here in the valley. We spent most of 2023 working on house/property renovations and wedding planning. One of our first "we own a farm" activities was learning beekeeping.

We're getting married this year! So far in 2024, we've been focused on house/property renovations, beekeeping, raising chickens, and wedding planning. We can't wait to see you at the wedding!

We bought our dream home in January of 2023! It is a farm house built in 1800 in Winchester, VA. It sits on 5 acres, 3 of which are pastures. We have been working hard to bring our home up to the 21st century, and we still have a long way to go. (Check out our progress on a few of our projects below!) We're excited to keep making our dream home together.
