As the true start to any 21st century love story goes...they matched on Tinder. Josh messaged first with a classy “So, late night Tindering?” and the flirting banter began... until Khenra stopped responding. A few weeks go by, and Khenra’s then roommate sent her an urgent message needing a wingwoman to go with her to this guy’s place in University Orchard (an off campus housing complex at Salisbury University). Khenra agreed, not wanting her to go alone, because of safety (mom should be proud). That same night, Josh’s roommate sends him a message asking him to wingman for him with this girl he met along with her roommate named Khenra. Josh thinks “How many girls named Khenra could there be?!” So he agreed to wingman hoping to meet the Tinder match who stopped responding. Josh and his roommate drove over to pick up Khenra and her roommate from the Chester Dorms for a night dubbed as “Netflix&Chill”.

Khenra: “He’s cute... I feel bad for not responding... not even sure why I stopped responding! Omg, he introduced himself as Josh Granger... like Hermione Granger... from Harry Potter... this is a sign...he might be the one!”

Josh: “What’re the odds that she’s her roommate... she’s short.. cute though, nice butt...And she doesn’t look as emo as she did in her Tinder pics... glad she decided to come!”

Khenra and Josh became inseparable ever since their wingman/wingwoman date on October 15th, 2014. They watched the movie Pitch Perfect and sang all the songs together while their roommates looked at them like they were crazy. They became an official couple the following January after their first real DATE to the Chili’s in Salisbury (shoutout to Aunt Pat and Uncle Ron for the Christmas gift card that paid for the date).

The two went through their college years together, adopted their pride and joy (Rocco) and ended up moving to La Plata together after Khenra accepted a 2nd Grade Teaching position in Charles County. The two started saving and bought their first home together in April 2019. As official home owners, they continued to plan their future and how they wanted marriage to come next. Josh told Khenra to start looking for rings...and so she did... sending him options... weekly. Come Thanksgiving Josh had asked her dad for permission to propose and Khenra knew the proposal was coming soon. Until EVERY major holiday passed and still... no engagement. Slightly annoyed, Khenra agreed to a “date day” that Josh planned for January 4th, 2020. The day started with Jumanji 2, dinner at a pub in St.Mary’s (they also happened to be hosting a streaming party for St. Mary’s debut on Live PD) and ending with a paint and sip class. Still.No.Proposal. They made it all the way home and Khenra walked in the door to find a hand written card on their kitchen table. This was it and she immediately started crying. After blubbering though the card, she turned around to find Josh (and Rocco) down on one knee awaiting her answer. January 4th, 2020 was now their “Yes” day. Up next: The Best Day, November 6th, 2021.
