Josh and I met briefly in the fall of 2018 at a Mexican restaurant through mutual friends, which led to becoming Facebook friends. After a lot of likes and a few hearts, we exchanged messages. Our chemistry was instantaneous. We finally exchanged phone numbers and would talk on the phone for hours. Those conversations led to the most amazing adventure either one of us has ever been on.

Our first date was in September of 2019. Josh was helping his brother move, so our date started a little later than we intended. We just went to Sonic to grab a quick drink and talk. What was supposed to be a brief interaction turned into a five-hour date filled with the very best conversations and laughter. Neither one of us wanted that time to end. Before we parted ways that night, we established that we were boyfriend and girlfriend.

Josh had just taken a transfer to Benton County, AR, with the Arkansas Highway Police. This meant that our relationship was going to be long-distance. However, no amount of distance could stop our love story. After many, many months of driving five hours back and forth to visit each other and navigating a worldwide pandemic, we decided it was time to move in together.

In 2021, I took a job teaching in Siloam Springs, and we started renting a house in Gravette. We loved the small town community and really started to vision our lives together here in Northwest Arkansas.

On November 4, 2023, a little more than four years after our journey began, Josh took me back to Sonic. As we sat there ordering our drinks, he pulled out a ring and asked me to spend forever with him. Saying “yes” was the easiest thing I’ve ever done.

We can’t wait to celebrate with our closest friends and family to start this next chapter of our lives.
