We met each other through some mutual friends at the Memphis School of Preaching Lectureship in 2021! We just became friends and stayed in touch over time

Well, Josh had been chomping at the bit for a chance to take Brooke out on a date but she had been extremely hesitant. She had turned down a few dates over the course of a few months. But somehow she found herself still talking to her best friend Josh every night, even though she knew he had feelings for her even though she still didn't. One day Brooke was praying for a man who would never stop helping her get to heaven no matter what that took. In the middle of that prayer, she realized that Josh had been doing that the entire time. They had even recently been having regular Bible studies. After Wednesday night bible study, Brooke called Josh and admitted her feelings, he proceeded to ask, "What do you want me to do with that information?" Brooke then said, "Take me on a date, you idiot!"

We had been talking for a few weeks and had decided to go out on a date just to see how things went. Our first date was supposed to be February 10, 2023, but there were some things going on in Josh's life that weren't that great. So, Brooke decided to impromptu just drive nearly 4 hours to go to lunch with Josh as a complete surprise on February 7, 2023. She showed up extremely nervous with no idea how Josh was gonna react. When he opened the door and saw her standing there, he did not react at all. Josh stood there and looked at her and Brooke nearly turned around and drove home. But Josh then recovered when he noticed how uncomfortable Brooke looked and gave her a hug. He expressed how excited and happy he really was that she was there! They were both nervous as all get out but decided to go to Cheddar's for lunch. Where they discovered that they had known each other for so long as friends that the normal first date conversations weren't gonna work. So, they quizzed each other on random facts about their lives. Then they just hung out and talked for a while and got ice cream!!

It had lots of ups and downs, but we treasured every one of those moments because we got to face them together! We both went through some of the hardest points in our lives while we were together but they never pulled us apart, only closer together. We are a long-distance couple but during some parts of our relationship, Brooke questioned if they really were, because they were inseparably together every single little chance or opportunity they got!!! There was never too much time together! We can't wait until the only times we have to say goodbye is when Josh goes to work and Brooke goes to nursing school...
