Memorial Day weekend of 2021 was one they will never forget. While Jaclyn was visiting Washington from Texas for her annual salmon and halibut fishing trip, she had a chance encounter that would change not only her life, but Josh's forever. Who would have thought two people could find love in Sekiu, Wa... quite literally "Fish Camp". (If you've been to Sekiu, you understand). But these two did!

Fast forward a couple of months and Jaclyn's lease in Texas was ending and the couple had to take a leap of faith. Josh moved Jaclyn back to Washington, officially in September of 2021. Jaclyn did warn Josh that she was a package deal... meaning she came with Duchess and Houston. Both puppies had Josh wrapped around their paws in no time.

After 2 years of fishing, camping, traveling to Texas, Alaska, Mexico, and various places around Washington, Josh had one very special birthday trip to Maui, HI planned for Jaclyn.

On May 15th, 2023, Josh wanted to take Jaclyn on a hike up to "Seven Sacred Pools". As Josh has a bad back, Jaclyn was very worried about going on this hike because of Josh's back issues. (She obviously had no idea he was proposing at the top of this hike). When they made it to the top of the hike, Josh asked Jaclyn to go stand under the waterfall and he followed behind. He had another hiker film the entire proposal under that waterfall so it would be a moment they would never forget.

The future "Martinell's" are excited and hope all of their closest friends and family can join them at their very "Josh & Jax" wedding venue location: Casia Lodge and Ranch. They picked this venue and wedding date because it embodies everything they love, rustic and luxury! And the January wedding date does not conflict with their halibut fishing dates or college football season.

This will be a several day affair as Josh and Jaclyn invite their guests to use this getaway as a mini-vacation. While the wedding will take place on Saturday, January 25th, there are additional activities scheduled for Sunday, January 26th. All guest are invited for a more rustic and casual day at Casia Lodge and Ranch to enjoy a brunch, skeet shooting, horse back riding, poker tournament in a cigar lounge, wine tasting on site, and much more!

Jaclyn and Josh have rented out the entire Lodge and Ranch for the entire weekend so their guests have an intimate weekend of socializing strictly amongst the Martinell and Foris guests.
